We recommend Healthy Paws
We are very satisfied with our choice for insuring our two dogs, Healthy Paws. We had choices of coverage and premiums. We never thought we would need insurance as much as we have. Healthy Paws is easy to use and submit claims. Claims are reviewed and paid at a reasonable, speedy rate. Customer service has always been a pleasure to work with.

DO NOT sign up with them In the 8 years ive owned my dog AND trupanion i've claimed $450 total. ONE submission for stitches on his toe and thats his entire payout history. $300 deductible they didnt even cover the rest. only a month after his incident, they raised my monthly by $50. They swear its not to recoup his payout but i cant see it any other way, not sure anyone can. NO medical history of problems, no chronic issues. Just an accident and they jacked up my rates for it and tell me its statistics. Lets not mention i already received an increased rate the beginning of this. 2 raises in less than a year.

Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware: Nationwide Pet is non-renewing 100K of their premium policies starting this year and rolling into next year. These are pets that have been with them years - many older with pre-existing conditions that cannot be covered through other insurers. They are not offering to even transfer to lower policies as has always been an option at renewal. The displaced pets have to go through underwriting again. Most are being refused new policies at all and any accepted are having any condition covered under their prior policy excluded as pre-existing. In addition, many additional states are being given conditional renewals at only 50% coverage (at the same price) or are receiving 2-3x premium increases. If you are looking for a safety net for when your pet gets older or develops medical problems, this is not the place to get it.
