Trupanion is manipulative and deceptive
Trupanion is expensive. They will do everything they can not to pay you. Even with the “first visit” waiver of waiting periods they will find a way not to pay. They don’t cover visit fees yet still charge more than other companies. I rue the day I went with this company and chose a different one for my next dog, much better options. Avoid them! They are large and will always put their bottom line first. In this case they are claiming my dogs hot spots are “allergies” because at ten weeks old from a backyard breeder he had “otitis externa”, and I’ve seen others write they used the same scam on their dogs. He does have a concurrent ear issue this time but they have covered the hot spots in the past. This time they decided not to. But for the reasons stated above, I could never comment this company. They hire sweet sounding women to lure you in. The only way this coverage is worth it is if your dog gets a majorly expensive ailment and they have to pay. Otherwise, you’re just covering other pets who have that happen while your dog gets no payout for routine ills.

I filed a claim on 7/1/2024
I filed a claim on 7/1/2024. As of today 8/15/2024 i still have not received payment for my claim. They are trying to say it is a pre existing condition when this policy was purchased years ago and i provided medical records when the policy was purchased that my dog had no issues at that time.

They are always quick and efficient…
They are always quick and efficient with claims. My 6 year old Chihuahua has had problems in the past with renal failure and I have submitted several claims for that. No problems with my claims. Kidney failure has been resolved but, now she has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. They have quickly paid all my claims. I am very pleased with their service.

worst customer service ever, you can not get through the phone lines
Pet's Best denied all of our claims even though we provided them with everything they asked us for. Daisy , a healthy dog age 3, was covered beginning april 2024. we submitted claims in june and july, to make sure our deductable was met. each claim was denied. by the way let me say that my husband and i tried for 10 days straight to get someone to answer the phone. i kept my speaker one for several hours in case someone answered. we never could get through. i finally got through by pushing the number for vet help. told them to cancel my policy and they hooked me up with Richard, very nice young man. i would never recommend Pets Best to anyone

Healthy and Happy @ Ten Years of Age
Genesis has used Trupanion since she was a puppy. As she's gotten older she acquired allergies. She needs medication and once a month allergy shots. I'm grateful for Trupanion who continues to pay for those necessities. They handle 90% of the bill. I'm a widow and don't think I could afford my best friend (BFF) if it weren't for them.
Great Pet Insurance!
MetLife did an awesome job processing my claims and reimbursing me any money that I paid out of pocket. But please keep in mind 1: You have to pay out of pocket the day of the visit. 2: the claiming process states 5-10 business days for processing but takes more like 15-20 business days (just have some patience). 3: Having a pet is expensive so have a rainy day fund just in case. Other than that the customer service representatives are amazing and very understanding. You get what you pay for so a good tip: Don’t pay for a cheaper premium plan. Pay for a more expensive one so you’re not paying so much out of pocket during your pet visits. The reimbursement will come in handy later on so you don’t feel like your pockets are completely empty.

Conflicting information
It took a VERY long time. I was told some things weren't covered as they were part of the wellness charges. And then when I requested the itemization I was told everything was covered except for a med that wasn't FDA approved. It was very confusing with the conflicting information.

This was my first time using Embrace
This was my first time using Embrace! I was impressed. The online form to submit a claim was simple and fast including uploading my invoices; Embrace contacted the veterinary hospitals for records directly which was great that I did not need to provide them; They sent me daily emails updating me on the status. Claims were accepted quickly with no questions asked and I receive a direct deposit into my account within a few days. The amount of the deposit matched what I had calculated!!! Seamless process. Thank you very much!
