Outrageous premium increase!
I was just informed that at renewal our monthly premium will be increasing nearly 78%! In 3 years, I have submitted 0 claims on my insured cat, and 2 claims on my insured dog totaling under $1000 in reimbursement. Their justification is "veterinary inflation", but I have not seen an over 75% increase in veterinary prices. This is price gouging and taking advantage of people who love their pets and will likely just continue paying these ridiculous prices in the event of a costly illness or injury. If we made adjustments to our policy (as they suggested) such as higher deductible, lower annual maximum reimbursement, and lower percentage of reimbursement, it almost guarantees that we would not see any benefit from the insurance unless our pet was having a major surgery or extended hospital stay that exceeds a $500-$1000 deductible. The customer service rep I spoke with made no effort to keep me as a customer when I mentioned I would be shopping around for other carriers and possibly canceling.

Not very happy with my recent claim. It’s been a month and I spoke live with a representative that said they confirmed everything was fine to proceed. Then I get an email it’s on hold because they want the documents again??

Healthy Paws for pet insurance!
If you are in the need of pet insurance, I highly recommend Healthy Paws. I’ve been insured with Healthy Paws for over a year and never filed a claim until last week when my 1 ½ year old chocolate lab Millie had a bowel obstruction that required surgery. I would have paid anything for Millie, and I am extraordinarily pleased to have Healthy Paws as my insurer and partner in Millie’s health. They made the claims process easy, communicated with me during the process and were honest and fair. Best of all Healthy Paws is part of the Chubb Company, American’s foremost insurance group. I’ll continue to pay my monthly premium to Healthy Paws and hope to never need them again, however if we do I know they are there for Millie. Finally, there are a host of pet insurance companies out there making lots of claims to be the best, but I can assure you, you can’t go wrong with Healthy Paws.

Pets Best has been nothing short of a pleasure to deal with. They've paid nearly $7000 towards my dog's surgery and illnesses. There was never any issue with price, coverage or reimbursement. If you're looking for pet insurance, this is absolutely the company to use.
