Thankful for Healthy Paws

I have had Healthy Paws insurance for my Cavalier King Charles Lola for 5 years. Thank goodness for this pet insurance. Lola was diagnosed at the end of 2020 with heart disease which has slowly progressed. She sees a cardiologist regularly to check her and to adjust her medications. If we did not have Healthy Paws pet insurance we would not be able to afford her expensive treatment. Healthy Paws is always quick with reimbursement and responsive to questions and concerns.

Highly Recommend Healthy Paws!

I’ve had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for about 10 years, first for one of my dogs (beagle mix), then a couple of years later for the second one when we got her (dachshund mix). Healthy Paws has been great. No claim forms - just the invoice and vet’s notes. They’re very nice on the phone and the turn around time for payment of claims is very quick. I highly recommend Healthy Paws!

Totally worth the small monthly fee.

Great company. Super fast turn around time for reimbursement. Fantastic customer service. Was a lifesaver the first few months of our “I love to eat socks” bernedoodle. And the one time only annual deductible is a great benefit.

Beware of MetLife!

I adopted my cat 11/28/23 from a shelter. I signed up for pet insurance for her at the shelter. The shelter provided all information and there was a clean bill of health and no pre-existing condition which was provided to MetLife Pet Insurance. The cat developed gas and diarrhea a little while after adoption. Pet insurance clearly states that is active immediately there is no waiting period. I hit my deductible I submitted my claims and sure enough they denied me. They claim she has a pre-existing condition because it started shortly after adoption. That is not a pre-existing condition it's a condition that arose after I adopted her and now they are claiming I have to go through an appeal process which can take upwards of 45 days. People get insurance for a reason for emergencies when they need it so they are covered. Clearly they are a company who does not stand by their word that claims your pet is insured from the moment you get the plan unless it's a pre-existing condition which there is absolutely no documentation of such prior to signing up for the plan. What happens if you can't afford the test your pet dies you have to get a lawyer and pursue this legally? I noticed they don't have a spot to put reviews on their website only the shining ones that they post. I can see why that is. I would strongly suggest looking into another pet insurance company do not waste your time and your money for them to look for loopholes and not back up their plan.

Embrace is Tops

I haven't had to file a claim yet but I want to say that my experience with customer service, with signing up and with the company's willingness to listen to me when I thought they'd made an error in the review of one of my cats medical histories has been excellent. Staff are friendly, cordial, professional, more than willing to help and knowledgeable. So far I couldn't ask for more.

Terrible experience

My cat became seriously ill and was hospitalized at Tufts veterinary hospital who did everything they could save her but she passed away. Months later I received a call from MetLife about another matter but was told by the agent O could file a claim which I did. They asked for more info, I provided it. Then they denied the claim because it wasn’t filed within 90 days. They all knew when it happened and kept encouraging me to continue only to process and deny the claim. Trust me when my beloved cat passed away unexpectedly I was not thinking “oh, I better file a claim for within 90 days”. Terrible on MetLife’s behalf.
