I urge anyone on the fence to get insurance!
I rescued a very sweet puppy and luckily signed up for healthy paws the day he came home. This is my first experience with any kind of pet insurance. When he was around 1.5 years old, I noticed some mobility issues and that he was having some pain. We did all the vet visits and he was unfortunately diagnosed with multiple issues including severe hip dysplasia and a luxating patella. He has now had 2 major surgeries (hip replacement and CCL repair/patella) and they were both covered. Both completed before he turned 4! You really never know what kind of health problems your dog may inherit. Healthy paws really makes it easy to get the care needed and it’s a painless process. I am so happy with this insurance and wish I would have had it for all my previous pets. I love knowing that I can get him the ABSOLUTE best care available to us. For reference, his hip replacement alone was over 8k USD. I will always use healthy paws for any pets in the future.

Cannot contact company by phone
Until Covid, Pet Best Insurance was available and easily accessible by phone. That is no longer the case and it is very frustrating to hold for 25 mins. or more each time I have tried to call and finally hang up.
I am seriously looking to switch.

Excellent pet insurance
Excellent pet insurance! Monthly cost is very reasonable. Claims are reviewed as soon as submitted and it takes only a few days to get a reimbursement. Customer service is fantastic- any question is answered immediately in a carring manner. Couldn't be happier with Healthypaws!!!

Unacceptable processing time
Nothing about submitting claims and receiving payment with this company is easy. Signatures are required from both the vet and the customer before submitting the claim. The length of time for a claim to be received after submitting (either by email or fax) is upwards of 4-5 weeks and after you receive a notice that it has been received it is at least 14 days before you are notified of coverage. Then it is another wait before there is a payout. If you are looking for pet insurance so that you don't have money held up waiting for insurance payment, this is not the company to choose. If you need to do a predetermination of a claim before proceeding with treatment it can take upwards of 3 weeks. How does that make sense if your pet is in pain?

Quick response & reliability
Trupanion is very quick in processing claims and sending the check. They pay 90% after deductible which is great! I would highly recommend Trupanion pet insurance to my family & friends who has pets!
