WARNING : Worst Insurance experience
I’ve been an embrace customer for years. When I’ve submitted claims that we’re not covered, the response was quick and done in a timely matter. The latest claims, which we feel were perfectly in line with our coverage, and should hav been accepted are now still being questioned, 3 months after submitting. We’ve been on the phone numerous times, on hold for hours, and only to hear simple complaints that we expect an insurance company to be able to perform themselves. They claim that our vet has not given them all the info they need, but when we talk to the vet it’s a different story. At first we thought it was the Vet’s fault, but having gone to multiple vets, we are now seeing the same excuse. I warn you not to purchase this pet insurance policy, as poor business practice should not be rewarded.
i PURCHASED THIS POLICY WHEN I RESCUED MY LABORDOR. i HAD LOST A DOG A FEW MONTHS BACK FROM UNEXPECTED ILLNESS..CANCER, SURGERY, ETC. i SPENT OVER $4000 AND SHE DIED IN MY ARMS ANYWAY. i MADE THE DECISION THEN --NEVER AGAIN.
MY VET RECOMMENDED TRUPANION AND I INVESTIGATED THOUROUGHLY AND MADE THE DECISION. VERY EARLY INTO OUR LIFE TOGETHER RAVEN HAD AN INTESTINAL PROBLEM , WHICH WE TREATED RIGHT AWAY AND IT WAS THEN I DISCOVERED WHAT A GOOD DECISION I HAD MADE.NOTHING TO COMPARE WITH NOW. I ADMIT THERE WERE TIMES, WHEN THE PREMIUM WOULD GO UP ETC THAT I QUESTIONED IT BUT NOW THAT MY DOG IS CONSTANTLY UJNDER VET'S CARE WITH VERY EXPENSIVE MONTHLY MEDICATIONS KEEPING HER GOING I DON'T THINK I COULD MANAGE OTHERWISE., RAVEN IS ALMOST 12, HAS CUSHING/S DISEASE AND SEVERE OSTEOARTRITIS, ETC I CANNOT PRAISE TRUPANION ENOUGH FOR ALLOWING ME TO KEEP MY GIRL COMFORTABLE AND HAPPY FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE,'I HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN.

I have called them on two occasion to up date my Account and some other concern question that I have. Apparently they do not enough representative employees . My hold time for my first time calling was over 55 min. Today it is past 1 hr. and 25 min. and still on hold. YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS TO HAVE YOUR PHONE LINE TIED UYP FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. THIS IS UN HEARD OF. AND I CAN EVEN HANG UYP ITG BEEN MORE THEN AN HOIUR TO JUST HANG UP. AM I EXPECTING A REPRESENTATIVE SOON???

After a sad and expensive experience with a previous puppy , I decided skeptically to try Trupanion.
At the start, the folks at Trupanion were helpful and courteous.
A few months passed. Then it happened.
My new pup ate, not one, not two, but three socks.
The third sock required surgery, a couple overnights at the Vet and $$. Afterwards, I brought him home, filed my claim and waited hopefully for a result which brought tears to my eyes when I received it.
As I said, at the start Trupanion was helpful and courteous. Well, add ‘a blessing’ to that description. They were available 24/7 for my questions & except for the examination fee, which I knew they did not pay, they covered everything else.
I was beyond pleased, so relieved and able to focus on my pup instead of the bills.

Only twice in my dog's life have I needed to file what I consider are substantial monetary claims for diagnostics and procedures. Both times my claims have been handled in a timely fashion and checks have been issued quickly. In a case where I had a question or concern, answers were forthcoming. Many owners do not think about the potential medical implications that come with pets. However, in our experience, pets are people, too, and they can suffer as we do from a plethora of maladies. It's worth the peace of mind and monthly payment to know that when something more grave or catastrophic happens, it is well covered.
'It could be a ruptured disc." The only word I recall from the ER vet who called us, as we waiting in our car outside the emergency vet hospital. We accepted her diagnosis and approved our pup to stay overnight to be transferred to the vet neurologist the next day for and MRI and possible surgery.
We immediately called Trupanion and spoke with Ari who out us at ease and clearly outlined next steps.
Two days later we were able to pick up our pup from the neurologist, without surgery being necessary. I submitted the claim the next morning. I immediately received a confirmation email with details on what to expect. Within 48 hours our claim was processed and included concise details regarding the claim.
Overall having Trupanion made the decision for care much easier knowing we had piece of mind for the coverage. The ER vet even asked if we had pet insurance and when we told her we had Trupanion she said 'Excellent, they are the good insurance!'.
My dog would not be alive without 24 hour Pet insurance!
Insurance is always an unknown. You don't know if you will need it for a young puppy or a shelter dog. Any beautiful animal can become sick. It's heartbreaking to say the least. I took the chance of obtaining insurance on my therapy/shelter dog. Knowing anything was worth the chance should any tragedy occur. I knew that the primary services would be covered so I gave it a chance. The initial representative was very helpful in order to make a decision. This decision saved my dogs life! If I had not taken the chance he would not be alive today. Thank you 24 Pet Watch...it has been a journey.
Love Healthy Pets! They’re coverage is amazing (you have to pay for all wellness visits which isn’t a bad thing, keeps you responsible for the well-being of your pet). I purchased the pet insurance after I rescued my dog and I was fortunate to not need until this year and it was the easiest and most stress free experience.
Very satisfied with the claim process and customer service of healthy paws. The claim process is very easy, processing is very quick and fair, and customer service is awesome. Have been with healthy paws for all three of our current and past pets for over six years. Have never had any bad experience.
They are great! Healthy paws just processed a claim the same day I sent it! Never a problem.
I think they are wonderful. I have two dogs. One was diagnosed with a nasal tumor over the summer and she has been able to receive targeted radiation therapy thanks to Healthy Paws. I probably wrote a review in the fall about this. The other dog is less dramatic, but this year has been a steady stream of expenses. healthy paws makes it easy to submit and processes the claims quickly. Today, it was the same day! I am happy every day that I bought this insurance.
