The only reason this is a 2 instead of a 1 is because their 24-hour Paw Support has good vets available for questions that can help you avoid a vet visit. But OMG - otherwise, they are crooks. They raise your premium every single year significantly and find every excuse for a pre-existing condition to be recorded for your pet, and then of course there's a deductible. It just makes more sense to self-insure. They're really more concerned with making money than build any kind of supportive ecosystem for you and your pets.

We purchased insurance for each of our two dogs when they were puppies. We have never had any issue with reimbursement when they were sick or hurt. Recently, my 10 month old puppy was attacked by another dog. She almost died and had to have intensive surgery. This experience was traumatic and extremely stressful, but it was nice not having to worry about the financial implications. Pet's Best reimbursed us 90% with no questions asked, and within a couple of weeks. I'm so grateful.

Healthy Paws Went Extra Mile
I had a very positive experience with Healthy Paws. My dog was recently diagnosed with an inoperable tumor and the only treatment was very costly radiation therapy. Healthy Paws covered the bulk of this expensive treatment, plus the also very costly diagnostic tests that preceded it. Moreover, they handled things promptly and professionally so I was able to concentrate on getting my dog the care she needed instead of getting bogged down with all kinds of additional obstacles. This whole process involved numerous (often daily) visits to the vet and Healthy Paws often reimbursed invoices within a day or two of submission (even over the Christmas and New Year’s holiday). I am very grateful for the efficiency and sensitivity in the way they handled things and it made an incredibly stressful ordeal infinitely more manageable.
