Pet's Best is certainly NOT the "best"
I had my four cats insured with Pets Best for several years, and did not have any problem until recently. I adopted an older dog from the local shelter last June, and in July, I added her to the policy. A few months afterwards, I took her to the vet because she was scratching and her skin appeared dry. The doctor prescribed a medication for this issue,and also noticed a lump on her breast. It was suggested that she have a lumpectomy because it might prove to be malignant. I did not have this procedure done until this February because I had other serious health issues with my oldest cat. When I submitted the claim to Pets Best, I recieved several phone calls from them asking for further information. Each time, the same questions were asked, each time the same answer was given. On the day I was to renew my insurance, which I did, I went to my "pet portal" only to find my claim for the dog's lumpectomy had been denied. The reason was, "records from the veterinarian were not submitted". I spoke to my vet. and discovered they had been submitted to Pets Best, within the next business day. I called the Pets Best, and questioned this denial. I was told the vet had not sent the records. When I informed them that indeed the vet had, and even the time of day, the representative became polite, yet condescending. Pre-existing issue
The jury is out on Embrace, I have a young puppy that had stomach issues documented from regular vet and puppy shot visits prior to buying the insurance then 4 months later a diagosis was attached to the illness they called it pre-existing Even though it was growing and gaining weight right on schedule, because the vet and I had a convesation and she made a note of it it was pre-existing, my vet didnt even know what the dog had!

Great Customer Service
This has been my first experience with pet insurance, and this is the second year that i've been insuring my pets. I have two boxers (both of whom have pet insurance). I love the fact that they have the "wellness care" now also, I spent ~$150 to get ~$200 in wellness care. So that's $50 for free!! It's great that you can spend it on a variety of items (front line, annual check up visits, etc.) I have called and/or emailed customer service a number of times. They are always willing to explain things to you and are very quick at responding to emails. They send detailed forms with their emails to show your deductible and what is covered, what you were reimbursed, what's left. So it's very easy to follow. I did my research before signing up for embrace, they had the highest reviews and now I understand why.

Straight from the Veterinary Assistant's Mouth
Working for a veterinary clinic I am all too aware of how expensive veterinary care can become and how quickly it all adds up. When my dog contracted a strain of leptospirosis not covered by the vaccine a year and a half ago and ended up in renal failure with permanent kidney damage do I ever wish I had known about Trupanion. Once learning about them I did sign up right away. Although they do not cover my pups pre-existing kidney condition they have since covered close to a thousand dollars in diagnostics for a new problem. Also going above and beyond when I challenged a rejected submittal they provided a 3rd party review and paid out for the claim. I have only had the insurance for about 5 months and have not seen any increase in my premium.I will never be without pet insurance again, I have learned my lesson and will stay a Trupanion customer for all my future pets.

I filed my claim by fax on Feb 15 2011 and I received the cheque in my hand on Mar 2011 - all my staff and friends were amazed and as a result - 4 of my staff members have now taken out insurance for their pets. I am totally impressed with this company.

Very reasonable folks
This was my first time submitting a claim to Embrace and we started out with a little bump. There was a misunderstanding that required me asking to communicate with management. I'm happy to say that the manager I dealt with was very reasonable and was willing to see my perspective. She worked with me to process my claim. End of story - I'm a happy customer!

Tequila dog
At Christmas time our puppy sampled a bit of margarita and became quite ill. We took him to emmergency, where he spent the night, in a guarded condition. The bill was substantial and the insurance company paid 80% without any questions. We are so happy to have bought this policy.

Efficient, friendly and reliable
Just got my puppy covered in January and submitted two claims this month. Process was simple and easy and customer service was great. When they couldn't read a fax I sent, they just contacted my vets directly. It was super easy for me and I am so glad I chose them after TONS of research! They also let me know step-by-step how much I have left of my deductible. So easy and efficient.
