Examination Coverage why not?

I agree that Truepanion s great when I had my two claims over the last 9 years. However I also think it would be so nice to have the exam covered. I am curious to know why it is easy clouded from their coverage. S.

Great company

Impressed with the coverage, so glad we have it. Our beautiful persian will need lots of tests and monitoring and the coverage will look after the majority of the costs. Very quick response to claims for reimbursement. Good job!

Trupanion Review

We own Chelsea, a 10 year old Golden Retriever and purchased pet insurance within a few weeks of getting her as a puppy. Although we had owned dogs before and never encountered any serious medical injuries or illnesses, we have had numerous occasions to submit claims for Chelsea. When she was about 1 1/2, she had an accident while running on the beach and was diagnosed with a right medial patellar luxation and surgery was performed at the Atlantic Veterinary College. After the surgery, she attended physiotherapy for several weeks. The total cost for this was over $7,000.00 and pursuant to the terms of our insurance, 90% was paid by Trupanion. Chelsea later had to have surgery for gastric dilatation/volvulus which cost over $2,000.00 and she now has arthritis and thyroid issues so we are very thankful that we have the pet insurance in place. My daughter recently became the owner of a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever puppy and immediately enrolled in an insurance plan for him. I believe that when you own a pet you take on the responsibility for looking after the pet and attending to any medical issues that may arise and, for us, paying the monthly insurance premium is preferable to facing bills of several thousand dollars at one time. Trupanion has always paid our claims as set out in the policy and has done so in a timely manner.

Secure 4 is a joke!!

We have the secure 4 plan - don't worry about anything plan! Ha, our dog was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 6 months to live. Four months into it they reduced our co-pay to 50 per cent. No, they did not cancel our plan and no they did not increase our premium but to go from 80 percent coverage to 50 percent is a huge deal. I complained and they raised it to 60 percent. Never again! Before this I would have recommended it but to do this to a dying dog is just plain cruel. Then I got a tag in the mail in case the dog got lost - I promptly mailed it back to them. I called yesterday and the stupid person asked me "how is your dog doing" - this after pulling up my file - Can't you see my dog has terminal cancer!!! The customer service ombudswomen I spoke to made it clear to me that my dog and I were not "special". Do your research there has to be a better company out there somewhere. With the stress of a cancer dog they should have some compassion but it is all about risk management and how much your dog is costing them.

Pleased with our coverage

We have a young brittany spaniel who occasionally gets herself into trouble and has sine anxiety issues when she is left alone and it's not part of her normal workday routine. Embrace has been so good for us, as they have covered the veterinary blips our little one has run into, and, on top of that, they have covered acupuncture to treat her anxiety issues! It has been absolutely wonderful. The only "issue" I have had with the company is that I will check my claim status online and it will say closed, and I haven't heard from them about the status of my claim. In these cases I have emailed them and they have gotten right back to me advising me that my check is in the mail, and I've always received it a few days later.
