It is so easy to file a claim with Trupanion. It takes moments on their app. Then, they send updates throughout the process. I think they pay a fair amount. When I’ve needed to talk to a representative, they have been knowledgeable and efficient.
My invoices are turned around very quickly, and the Outcome Letters are clear and easy to understand. Any time I have had questions they were responded to quickly and professionally. I've been very impressed with how straightforward Trupanion's insurance policy and claim process is. My dog is 12 yrs old now, so I've had to use the coverage more, and I'm very glad I purchased it when he was only 2. I've found myself wishing that my OWN health insurance policy and claim process was so clear!
I purchased a Trupanion policy when my dog was 1 year old. I haven't used it much, although, the times I used it the process was painless and I was reimbursed within 2 weeks - longest I've had to wait. I almost cancelled it last year and decided to hold onto it hoping my lab would live to 13 and well beyond and then he wouldn't be eligible for coverage. He was diagnosed a few weeks ago with diabetes at 11 and has a peripheral neuropathy happening too-but he's doing better on insulin. Having the policy has allowed me to not have to make any hard decisions about being able to afford this level of care for my 4 legged family member-because I can afford it, and he's worth it.
