Unknown denial of claim
Someone denied my claim for an illness, but did not support the decision. They took 2 weeks to process it before emailing me to give more detail. I sent an invoice, and they said they needed to get paper work from my vet, then they denied it saying it was from before I put insurance on the dog. But it was false and they will not provide me the paper to show it was an illness prior to insurance date.. terrible..

Late this summer I was researching coverage plans for my new Great Dane puppy, as I have never insured a pet before. I called Embrace and spoke immediately and directly with Darcy Lindner, Embrace Contact Center Mgr. I appreciated the fact that I was able to speak with a real person and not go through mind-numbing and frustrating prompts. Darcy answered all of my questions and helped me tailor a plan that is both comprehensive and affordable. I have thankfully not had to use the accident and illness coverage, but have filed a number of wellness claims already, whereby you are fully reimbursed for wellness vet visits and things like vaccinations, and flea/tick and heartworm meds. The claims have been processed quickly and the checks mailed to me within days. Underwriters Christine Markulis and Cassie Vasco have completed those claims both promptly and efficiently. I have also encountered other members of the Embrace family, namely Mike Lambert and Laura Bennett, who have helped me navigate the logistics of this process as well. I can't speak highly enough about the staff, and I feel like they are different than other insurance companies in that they truly care about my dog and me and want to see us get exactly what we need. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to insure their furry family members.

Always a good experience with Embrace
I always have a great experience with Embrace. I've had them for almost 2years now. Getting my cat covered by Embrace has been one of the best decisions I've made. We cannot imagine how we would have managed without the sensitive caring staff of Trupanion as our dog journeys his way back to health. Honest, caring, effective- efficient- this company has helped us help Griff get the care he needs. There are no horror stories here- for the past 8 years, Trupanion has honoured claim after claim- Accidents and illness can come out of nowhere- with Trupanion- I believe they really do care as much as we do that animals get the best care they can. Lucky lucky us.

Trupanion Guilty of Fraud
I took my dog to the vet for a torn right front dew claw on 2/13/15. The total charge was $263. I did not meet the $500 deductible but was told by the claims adjuster that this amount would count toward the deductible on any future injuries to the dew claw. I took my dog back to the vet on 9/30/15 for an infection of this very same dew claw that had grown back. The charge from the vet was $231.42 This time Trupanion claimed that it was a "new incident" and that the previous deductible could not be applied to this incident. My vet was very disturbed by this and encouraged me to appeal the claim. They rejected the appeal and stated the following "While the current claim is for a torn dewclaw on the same foot and nail that was affected on 2/13/2015, there is no medical basis on which to systemically relate the current claim to the same underlying etiology. It appears the incidents are consistent with separate and unrelated traumas as there were no further abnormalities noted with the torn dewclaw after treatment in February 2015." WTF? If this isn't insurance fraud, I don't know what is! I am appealing this to the State Dept of Insurance. My vet has said that she will testify on my behalf that they are guilty of egregious fraud.

I feel so at ease with Embrace
I have been with Embrace for 5 years with two different dogs. I love them. I don't know what I would have done without them. With Embrace my babies get the care they need, when they need it.

Worth every dollar
I have had pet insurance since 2003 (different carriers). Hands down some of the best customer service, fast response, and extremely quick reimbursement in the business. I wish my own medical and dental insurance was so good. Literally snap a photo of a claim to submit through their app and (at most) 4-5 days later a response or even the check itself. They cover the level and items as discussed in the policy. No round around or delay. My dog had a medical emergency 2 weeks ago that really tested the policy. Less then 7 days after submitting the claim the check arrived. I would not hesitate to insure a pet through Healthy Paws. All 3 of my dogs have policies with them.

So far, so Good!
We got a lovely poodle/Soft Coated Wheaton terrier pup at 3 mo. old in Feb. He has several minor health problems which have been quickly and efficiently covered by Embrace. We are happy with the coverage so far in his young life. He's now about 10 mo. old, happy, healthy and extremely social!
