Very Satisfied

We adopted Ray, a Shih Tzu mix, from a shelter last Jan. The last dog we had lived to be 17 years old and probably cost us $10,000 over the years we had her. This time we decided on having insurance and very glad we did. Already it has been helpful.

The best choice for your furry family member.

When one of our dogs had a $5k vet bill we decided from then on all of our dogs would have insurance. Then came the choice of which out of all of them to use. For us it came down to the same things we looked at for our health insurance.1) Coverage, what do they cover? Any vet or just certain vets? 2) Deductibles, what are they and is it for each event or for the year? 3) Cap, is there a cap in coverage? 4) Customer service, how well do they respond and keep you informed. As well as how easy is it to file a claim? 5) Costs, what are the costs and how fast do they reimburse you? The answer for us was Healthy Paws. My dogs as well as my daughters are covered by them. On one of my dogs who came down with cancer they covered 90% of the over $20K it took to give her awhile longer with us as well as keep her quality of life up. On my current 4 year old they are covering 90% of the almost $8K it takes to correct her two torn ACLs. This allows us to make the best medical decisions for our four legged family members without thinking about how we are going to pay for it. It gives us that peace of mind in case something does arise. IT is worth every penny. The claims are an easy click and they have you your check within a week. Add in their personal touches of following up to see how your dog is doing and their donations to rescues and the choice was easy.

ASPCA Pet Ins, better than my OWN Heath Ins!

I have had ASPCA Pet Ins for several years now for 2 of my dogs. Really the best investment you can have for your pet. Vet bills can become costly, especially if your pet gets ill or has an accident. ASPCA Pet Ins offers great coverage options. I had started out with a basic plan with my first dog. He ended up having heath issues and I was so thankful that I had pet ins. I ended up purchasing ASPCA's top level coverage for my second dog when I realized just how much it made sense for me to have the best coverage for my dog. ASPCA Pet ins is better than my OWN Heath ins! From their easy to use electronic claim forms to the convenience of direct deposit into my bank account on claim reimbursements! Would highly recommend ASPCA Pet Ins to anyone!

Insurance by trustworthy do-gooders

My rescue mutt suffers from severe hip dysplasia and a rare autoimmune disorder called lupoid onychodystrophy. One of his hips was so bad that our specialist sent us to a surgeon several hours away to have a new hip implanted. The surgery and implant cost upwards of $6000, not to mention all the vet work Buddy had in preparation. In short, that surgery transformed his life. I could never have made it happen without Healthy Paws. They continue to cover the acupuncture he receives (that, by the way, along with fish oil and vitamin e therapy) keeps his arthritis and autoimmune disorder under control. Their service is fast and friendly, and I feel good knowing that they are also committed to helping animals in need.

Peace of Mind

My cat needed surgery for a bladder stone that looked like a star that was tearing him up inside. Knowing that I could count on an insurance to help with costs made me feel as if my baby would be ok. He was then diagnosed with diabetes and the continuing care he needs is also covered, this brings me peace of mind that i will be able to afford his care and he will be happy and healthy. I only wish they would cover prescription food and supplements that are required for his care. In this case I don't have a choice as to which food to give him and they can get pricey. Otherwise, the customer care representatives have always been nice and respectful and caring.

fair consideration of claim

My claim was reviewed and payment was approved in as prompt a manner as possible given the nature of the illness. Petsmart kept me informed through the process and their chat function was also most helpful. I am so glad I have this insurance.

Greatful!

When I adopted 2 kittens, I made sure I would have health insurance for my kittens while they are young. I am glad I did. One of my cat had an UTI and reoccured in a few month. Our vet recommended PU surgery which costs $1800. In a few days I sent the invoices to Healthy Paws, they already took care of my claim and reimbursed me within a week. I would recommend to anyone!

UPDATE ON 10/15 REVIEW FOR SEMI, THE SIAMESE

All issues involving non-payment of Semi's bills have been resolved. I have to say that the representatives, including Geraldine, have gone out of their way to expedite payment of all claims ( which were quite modest) given the extensive testing Semi received. Geraldine called my home today to inquire about Semi, who was finally diagnosed with an allergy of unknown origin and who is completing a course of prednisone and is now on a very expensive Hypoallergenic Prescription diet (along with my other three cats, as they share a food bowl.) My suggestion is that all pet owners take home copies of the vet's notes so that they can be faxed or e-mailed along with the claim. If the pet has been treated in the last 18 months, these notes should also be included. It is disappointing that Pets Best does not cover prescription foods. Semi (and her cat friends) are now on Royal Canin HP, which costs $56.00 for a 7.7 pound bag and $115.00 (with vet discount) for a 17 pound bag.
