Outstanding! This one word says it all.
Koa is a purebred, chocolate, Labrador Retriever and was diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia (something according to text books only occurs in 10% of Labradors). Healthy Paws has been there for us since the beginning and will be with us till the end. When I was researching pet insurance over a year ago my first question was, "do I need it?" Then, "what company do I go with?" I wanted a company that sounded like they care about animals and you can't get any better than, "Healthy Paws." Next I wanted a company that was easy to understand, user friendly and answered their phones. Lastly, the cost, affordable plans with reasonable deductibles, (3 out of 3). As for Koa and his elbow issues, he's in the recovery phase and Healthy Paws paid out on everything they said they would, expediently! They also check in from time to time to see how Koa is doing :-)

Exclusions are not listed properly
I was just told that my claim will be denied for a spay procedure. Because I had chosen Plan 4 and had been told I could select how to use the wellness portion, I thought it would be covered. I also discussed that question over the phone before selecting this policy. It is not listed as an exclusion so there is no way to know. The rep went through the list of what is covered under wellness, however it is not clear that this list is exhaustive when receiving the document initially. All the rep could say is" it used to be covered, but our policy changed..." It takes 15 days to cancel the policy and this will be my last premium. The staff is very scripted and no empathy even if they misled me. I read the contract, yet, the language is deceiving.

Simply the BEST insurance for your pet
Our beloved Vizsla was recently diagnosed with the ailment I feel most pet lovers dread the most: cancer (in her case, a mast cell tumor). It was particularly devastating because 3 years ago, we lost our Weimaraner to an aggressive form of the same cancer. In his case, a different insurance company did nothing but argue with us over every detail, leaving us with over $7K in uncovered bills. When we re-homed our Vizsla, we were armed with all the facts to help prevent this disease. Unfortunately, we had no control over her previous owner's antiquated approach to "good health" which included massive over-vaccination and a poor quality commercial kibble. Besides, these breeds are pre-disposed to mast cell, and no one really knows the root cause. With Healthy Paws, we were able to take her to a top veterinary oncologist, and to follow up with an outstanding surgeon. Throughout this ordeal, we at least had the peace of mind knowing we could give her the best care without undue financial burden. True to their word, Healthy Paws reimbursed us 90% of the costs in a timely fashion. Any time I called to inquire about claim status, they were friendly and efficient, and helped us to get our thousands of dollars in reimbursement quickly. They even sent an email asking us how she was doing. We got lucky this time...our girl's cancer did not metastasize, and her oncologist feels she will live out her normal lifespan. Given our previous experience with another insurer, I have only rave revi

So Glad I Purchased Policy
I hesitated to purchase insurance thinking a young dog wouldn't have many health issues. I decided to purchase accident only coverage. Less than 7 months after rescuing our newest addition, she was at the Emergency Vet for surgery to remove an ingested foreign body. After the deductible, we were reimbursed for the entire claim. I'm very happy with how quickly my claims were processed. I will most likely be upgrading to a full accident and illness policy.

Embrace has been there for us.
My dog, Rusty, got hit by a car after only a few months of having Embrace. We had concerns at the time that Embrace might not reimburse us due to the 6 month hold on orthopedic conditions for the $4000 surgery that he had to go through to repair his broken pelvic bone. We almost did not have the surgery performed because of money issues, but decided to go through with it. I was so incredibly pleasantly surprised when there was no issue with Embrace, and the surgery and all of his care was reimbursed in full (not including deductible and the percentage we agree to pay, of course). It saved us an incredible amount of money, and Embrace was wonderful throughout the process. I have since been recommending Embrace to anyone who asks about pet insurance, and will continue to do so. Thanks Embrace.

Meniscus tear repair
Jersey had TPLO surgery last September she was doing really good but once we got to full activity we noticed her start limping on and off again at first we thought it was just the muscle rebuilding process like how we get ache after a workout. After about a month I noticed she was managing to many things without using the leg and we noticed her muscle mass was not improving. So back we went to the surgeon for a recheck making sure that no screw were loose and that there was no infections. Everything with the previous surgery was good everything in place and healed well but now she has a tear in the meniscus. Now all is repaired and I can not say enough good things about Trupanion I recommend them to all my friends. I have never een hassled by any of the claims I have had to submit and it is great because the clinics I use can direct bill so I only pay my portion of the bill. It is great piece of mind knowing I don't have to base my decisions on her health based upon whether I can afford it or not. Thank you Trupanion!

Trupanion paid 90% of my vet bill. Not the vet exam or taxes but the 90% of the remainder of that. It is a very good feeling knowing that I can treat my pet without hesitation :)
