So fast and easy!

Brady, my 6 year old Wheaten, had a growth in his leg. The vet recommended surgery and testing for cancer. Submitting claims was super easy, and if I had any questions, someone got back to me within a matter of hours. My reimbursement checks arrived before my credit card bill was due which was great! After all was said and done, I even got an email requesting an update on how Brady was doing. That was completely unexpected - a company that cares! Btw... No cancer! Brady is doing great!

Read All Reviews of Pet Insurance Companies

I've had Trupanion Insurance for two of my pets and never submitted a claim. My seven year old Golden needs surgery to remove his anal sacks...a problem he has had since he was a puppy. The claim was denied as a pre-existing condition. My dog has never released his glands and the condition now warrants attention. I've chosen to leave this company as their evaluation basically doesn't make sense...How can an issue from birth be "pre existing"? This seems like a loophole and a bit too convenient for the Company. And, the woman with whom I last spoke was pushy and rude. I'm going to Pet's Best Insurance Company.

Horrible Pet Insurance

I Have a 6 month old Britany Spaniel who contracted parvo at 3 months of age. He was not old enough to have all his immunizations when he contracted the virus. He was up to date on his vaccinations. I submitted a claim, and AKC Pet Insurance denied my claim. The reason is "the illness was excluded fro the policy.' Clearly this is fraud on their part. I submitted all medical records. Just a complete horrible insurance company. I would NEVER recommend this pet insurance company. I cancelled my policy after they denied my claim. Poor reason to deny the claim. Shame on AKC Pet Insurance!

PET OWNERS BEWARE

I have been a customer of Petsecure for a quite some time and this is the first time I have submitted a claim. My dog had an abscess deep in his anal gland, and required surgery. He became ill with vomiting, loss of appetite etc later so he went back in for diagnostic tests. Total amount spent at the vet was over $800. With a $300 deductible, I was expecting at least around $400 back. The claim was submitted in Feb 2016, its now March 28 2016, on calling them today, I learn I am to expect $51 back!! It has not even been deposited in my account yet. I would have been better putting my $60 a month premium amount aside in a separate account to cover the vet bills, as it is, even after paying premiums all this time, I am out of pocket. I would not recommend this company.

This insurance is terrible

I have had insurance for 7 years and when my dog was very ill the insurance would not pay for exam, recheck or medication. Very Very Disappointed. This cost me 237.90. I bought insurance for my dog because I had a dog die of cancer because I could not afford the treatment and he died. So when I bought max I thought I would be covered by paying a few hundred dollars a year but I was wrong. I always thought that when my dog got very ill that I did have to worry but apparently this insurance does not protect my dog for lots of different illnesses.

Better than I expected!

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Embrace. They take the time to explain things, even when I was frustrated. There was some minor misunderstanding in the beginning about when they would conduct the health review, but I think I was asking more than most people do at the moment. The claims have been processed rather quickly and the checks are good. I am a little disappointed in one of the "pre-existing" conditions because a vet I went to once diagnosed without testing and therefore the only way to appeal that (which I am thankful there is a way) is to get the vet to write a letter that says the previous diagnosis isn't correct. I will have to get my new vet to do this, because even though the orthopedic report card showed no signs of arthritis, the vet that wrote it in the notes was enough to cause concern for the insurance company. I appreciate that they review the notes and explain it all, but I wish I didn't have to jump through a hoop when the records clearly show no testing or imaging was performed to confirm arthritis. The other downfall would be that the vet has to fill out the form every claim. I think my office staff wasn't thrilled about that, but thankfully the form is quick and concise. Otherwise, honestly, it really is better than expected. I really worried they would give a reason as why not to process the claim, but they didn't. And, they even keep you updated along the way and give you all the resources to submit claims and check statuses. Thank you!
