This was the first direct billing that my Vet had done. The original estimate was between $1300.00 - $2000.00.It included a blood test to make sure that there would be no complications with our Morkie and the anesthetic. This was approved by Trupanion. The blood test showed a little bit of an elevation in regard to the liver. So the Dr.did a bile acid test to ensure there would be no complications during the PL surgery because of this. The bile acid test was not on the original estimate of procedures. We were charged $65.80 as a separate bill (or 2nd claim)with the understanding that if our dog has any problems with his liver $65.80 of our $300.00 deductible has already been paid. That is ridiculous! The vet took extra precautions to ensure that my dog would be alright during his PL operation. The high end total that was approved was $1841.43...the bill submitted with the $65.80 charge for the bile acid test was $1630.83.This was well within the approved perimeters and was associated with the PL problem in regard to the amount of anesthetic. Which may or may not of caused problems during the operation if the vet had not done his due diligence.REALLY! Now we have to remember for the next 12-15 years that we have a credit on our deductible...but only if it is a liver problem....if he ever even has this problem. Your policy needs a little leeway in some situations. If there had been complications it would of cost you more than $65.80! Client ID:15154 Invoice #:141026 Policy# TC0001569686

Quick, simple, and reliable insurance
Claim was very simple to submit. I didn't have to personally submit anything other than the invoice and simple claim form. They processed and approved claims very quickly, one on the same day, and I received reimbursement a few days later.

Making the Worst Month a Little Better
Embrace has been fantastic. Our cat Willow died after a two-week sudden illness. There were ED visits, home visit, more ED visits, inpatient critical care stays.... it was really adding up. But I just couldn't give up without giving her a chance to respond to treatment. But she just was too sick to come back to us. I was maxing out the credit cards, but I knew I'd get some back once Embrace started processing the claims. After she died, the claim process was easy and efficient. No additional emotional trauma fighting with carriers for coverage. About a week after submission, the checks began to come in the mail. The credits cards are looking better and better. Also, a week after Willow died, a client of my husband's told him that based on our recommendation, she insured her cats with Embrace and had an expensive hospitalization that was covered. My husband got a big tip from her. So, basically, thanks Embrace. I'd give back all the money for one more day with Willow. But you made one of the worst months of my life a little bit better.

Excellent
We took our puppy in on a Friday Eve and we submitted our claim that evening. It was approved by the morning and we were able to receive his treatments. It was so fast and hassle free.

Extremely reliable insurance company
My special friend, Sandy, a mix breed rescue dog was recently diagnosed with Cutaneous epitheliptropic lymphoma. Fortunately I had pet insurance with Trupanion to help me give Sandy the best of medical care he truly deserves.

Colton is truly half of me!
When my best friend (also a service dog) Colton became sick of course I was a mess. The vet wasn't sure what was going on either. He had to be hospitalized with IVs, he wouldn't eat, and couldn't even hold down water. The total came to over $6,000, which I am sorry to say I didn't have. What I did have Thank God was Healthy Paws insurance. Not only do I have my pup on the mend the question of having to put him to sleep wasn't ever an option! The vet faxed the receipts and information and in about 2 weeks I was reimbursed by Healthy Paws. I have become an ambassador for this company telling everyone I know how great they are. Some have signed up and are very happy as well. You don't have to worry about any games like some insurance companies and you don't have to wait forever to get very little back like some other companies. If you have other insurance SWITCH to Healthy Paws! If you have no insurance call Healthy Paws and sign up today. You will be thankful that you did! David Munson
