Embrace was great until they were bought by JAB in 2023. Now they are the worst.
Embrace was great for over a decade, with reasonable annual rate increases and painless claims, until about two years ago. That’s when they were bought by JAB and both my dogs’ rates suddenly doubled, even when adjusting for age. Embrace then began refusing every claim, pretending there was “no diagnosis code,” requiring five back-and-forths between me and my vet and Embrace before any payout was made. We now have preexisting conditions and it’s too late for us to switch carriers, so we are stuck with a plan almost expensive to use. I thought I was planning ahead responsibly for my dogs’ health in old age, and instead JAB and Embrace has ruined our finances. Zero stars.

Embrace is the best!
I have had other pet insurance, and Embrace is the best. It is so easy to submit a claim. You can take pictures of receipts with your phone or submit them on the computer via PDF. Once you are past those first couple of submissions, claims are processed lightning fast. I highly recommend the behavioral health coverage in addition to illness.

My dog has really been through the…
My dog has really been through the ringer recently and I was really becoming concerned. He had to go through so many tests and is on prescription medications now. Once the deductible had been paid it was a quick turnaround for reimbursement. I thank them for that as it has been an expensive run being on a budget.

I booked an appointment to have my dog spayed. After reading the documentations I decided to get pet insurance in case anything should happen during surgery. The next day I got pet insurance with Trupanion and they had no issues taking $200 from me immediately. That night Around 8 PM my dog got the Zumiez and kept running back-and-forth jumping on and off the couch and her kneecap Dislocated and popped out of place. This Caused laxatated Patela and is classified as accidental. However after taking the $200 I find out that there is a waiting period. Five days for accidental and 30 days for illness. It seemed a little odd as I have already paid my premiums for the month and couldn't understand why I wouldn't be able to use them if I've already paid and my effective date started when I paid. However the company refused my claim and stated it is an illness and will now be classified as a pre-existing illness even though it happened after my start date of premiums and they will not cover anything going forward that has to do with my dogs knees.. this is the biggest insurance scam I have ever heard of. If I'm paying premiums for something that wasn't existent prior to me not having insurance, It should be covered. However after sharing this information with the insurance company they continue to argue saying it's an illness even though the medical vet said it's not an illness it's accidental. This company does have some pretty shady reviews however it seemed to be the only company that did direct billing so I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. However I would suggest saving your money and going with a better company. Because Trupanion just wants to take all your money and they don't wanna pay out anything When the time is needed. I have demanded a full refund of my money and to cancel premiums and I will never tell my friends or family with pets to go with this company. save your money!!
