So thankful for Embrace
Earlier this year my 8 year old 'middle' dog, a mixed breed from the local shelter, was diagnosed with cancer (lymphoma). Much heartbreak behind those words, and no way of knowing just how much time he has left -- but he's alive today and enjoying great quality of life thanks to an excellent team of veterinary oncologists, and of course thanks to Embrace. Advanced treatment (surgery and chemotherapy) would have been out of the question without Embrace Insurance. They've been there for us every step of the way: prompt, efficient, and understanding. Because of Embrace, my dog is enjoying life, and I'm so grateful that he's had more time to relish treats, zoomies, and big barks at passers-by. I recommend Embrace Insurance to everyone. Thanks, Embrace!!

Trupanion is a scam
DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE. I got their "insurance" and then my dog got sick and was throwing up and pooping diarhhea. Took the dog to the vet, and the vet suggested a bunch of treatments and tests, and Trupanion took 3 hours to decide they were NOT going to pay anything. Total scam DO NOT BUY. I ended up paying for some of the tests out of pocket, and they didn't reimburse me for that either.

I can't be happier about the ASPCA pet …
I can't be happier about the ASPCA pet insurance. My cat recently had a fracture in his canine and had a dental that cost over 1000 dollars. I was surprised to see ASPCA had 90% of the cost covered. It is truly an amazing and professional insurance company and the staff also called to to ask how my cat recovered from his surgery. It was very sweet.

Prompt no hassle payment
We never thought about pet insurance but after living through our first dog's mast cell cancer diagnosis and treatment we realized it was a must when we got our next dog. Our guy has had several mishaps-he ran into a car bumper of a stopped car (20 stitches); he was attacked by another dog which required more stitches and, as can happen with SharPei , he has developed several bouts of fever requiring overnight vet stays for IV fluid. Trupanion promptly paid each of these claims. Initially we had a high deductible but a couple of years ago we changed the policy to a 250 deductible and 90% coverage. The premium went up but it turned out to be well worth the price. A month ago our dog went into acute kidney failure. He spent 8 days in ICU at a wonderful hospital. He got great care and he is now on the mend. The stress of having our dog hospitalized, each day not knowing whether we'd need to make the decision to let him go was extremely stressful. Not worrying about the costs lifted a huge burden from us. We knew that based on prior experiences with Trupanion that they would honor our contract. We also called them to review our policy and the compassionate professional was very reassuring. Our dog's care continues and each bill is considered to be part of one event even though we have seen 3 different vets. Some meds needed to be purchased at our pharmacy- one med was 99. At this point the bills have totaled well over $10 K. Thank you to all the customer reps we've spoken to who have been kind, professional and compassionate and thank you to the claims department who have been quick to process the claims! Each claim was handled within a week! Fantastic company!

don't do it
I have had two of my cats enrolled for about 3 years, and then I added my new kitten and dog a year later. I've never had to lean on them until this year when my kitten became suddenly severely ill- diagnosed with flutd and then getting two urinary obstruction within a week of each other, requiring hospitalization both times. we racked up a $2,000 bill but I made the decision to treat him because he was young, healthy otherwise, and because I had pet insurance who I thought I could depend on during this stressful time in my life. after his second blockage he required a surgery that redirects his urethra so that he never is at risk of a blockage again. something you'd think an insurance company would prefer because then they won't have to reimburse for another hospitalization should he obstruct again. unfortunately, I'm still editing to be reimbursed from the first hospitalization and it's been over a month. I just got a letter stating that they require another 30 days to process my claim. why? I submitted all of the necessary invoices, letters from the vet, and his full medical history, showing that he's never had so much as a cough since kitten hood. so, I'm $6,000 in the hole, my payments for his care are due, and I've been left high and dry by the company I thought I could rely on when it mattered. Guess I just gave you all of this premium money for free, eh? I've cancelled all of my other animals policies and decided to put the monthly premium into a savings account in case of emergency... after I make the payments toward his unpaid bills, of course. you just can't rely on anyone else but yourself these days. I'm so upset at the money I wasted and the lack of compassion or support when I call.
