Horrible Company

Horrible, horrible company. I have a one year old French Bulldog puppy. When my dog was about 4 months she was bit by a tick on her face. I went to my vet and she examined the bite and prescribed me revolution so I can protect my dog from getting future ticks. The bite over next few days got even worse. So I came back to the vet again and she said don't worry it usually gets worse before it gets better. A week passed by and the bit was not getting any better. I visited my vet again and now the vet told me that I needed to do emergency day surgery on my puppy. After the procedure the vet charged me almost $800, and they recommended me to purchase puppy insurance. I thought that was a good idea as that day surgery my dog had would have been covered. So I did a lot of research and chose Pet Secure. Signed up for the best insurance that was supposed to be the most comprehensive without any exclusions. A few months passed by and I discovered my dog broke out in hives after changing over some of her food. I went to my vet to see what was going on and she said your puppy might have allergies. So we performed an allergy test for my dog which cost another $500. I found out my puppy is allergic to so many things as the French Bulldog breed is very sensitive. I processed my claim through Pet Secure feeling confident that I had amazing pet insurance that would cover any issues I have. That was not the case. The insurance company concluded that when my dog was bit by the tick she was scratching behind her ear therefore the allergies must have been present at that particular time. How does a tick have anything to do with allergies???? Obviously a dog cant choose where she is going to scratch; she is trying to scratch the huge cyst on her face from the tick but is also getting parts of her ear and other areas surrounding the eyes and such. It took me literally 4 months going back and forth with their vets talking to my vet. My vet told them that there were NO signs of allergies at the time of the bite from the tick. The insurance company would tell me they would follow up with me in a day or two and they would never call me. I would waste my precious time calling them and they not having any answers for me. As a pet owner how am I to know that if something actually serious happens to my dog that they are in fact going to cover the issue? If they are arguing over a $500 bill I cant see them covering a hip replacement that costs thousands of dollars.

Best customer experience and amazing value

With two cats, and knowing the history of pet health care costs through long experience, pet insurance seemed like a no-brainer. After reviewing the available options, the logical solution was to choose Figo. Why? Figo offers the most affordable and accessible plans. When you do the math, it makes good financial sense. More significantly though, as anyone who has ever filed an insurance claim knows, the claims process is usually not the most pleasant experience between a consumer and the insurer. But I have found that Figo has turned that notion on its head. Claims are incredibly easy to file, amazingly quick turnaround time is also a big plus. What really clinched it for me was the customer service reps. They are not only friendly, courteous and super helpful, some of them know oodles about pet health, all of which makes every call a great experience. I cannot find any reason to go back to the old insurance model, especially when I can do everything from my iPhone. (Too bad for the cats, we can't conduct their vet visits from an iPhone.)

You can't afford to be without pet insurance

I have 2 dogs that are both covered. One of my dogs just had her second ACL surgery. Both surgeries were covered. Without this coverage, I may have had to make the painful choice of having to have her put down do to the cost of the procedure. Nobody wants to be put in that position. I couldn't be happier with Healthy Paws customer service, coverage and quick claim processing times.

It was an absolute pleasure speaking …

It was an absolute pleasure speaking with Jennifer. She was warm, welcoming, and answered all of my questions most effectively. Before calling Figo, I had done my research and narrowed my choices down to Figo and another company. Before I actually spoke to Jennifer, I reviewed the FAQs myself before asking Jennifer a few questions posted on this section. I did this to ensure that the representatives were well versed in their company policies and could readily answer questions should I ever need to reach out to a live representative. She aced the exam, and because of this and my interaction with Jennifer, I decided to choose Figo as our pet insurance carrier. Golnessa thanks you Jennifer!

Weigh costs v premiums

Pet insurance is expensive and you need to be very careful for the coverage you choose. It needs to provide a return on investment.

Was forced to put my cat down due to abrupt health issue doctors felt it was likely a heart attack or blood clot or perhaps both.

Was forced to put my cat down due to abrupt health issue doctors felt it was likely a heart attack or blood clot or perhaps both. You're denying my claim due to a pre-existing condition which had nothing to do with her death.I am not happy your decision.
