Have a lawyer look over your policy and have explained every last detail on how they can deny a claim. My policy was upgraded from accident only to full coverage and an injury from the accident only policy was no longer covered in the full coverage policy. There was no mention of any issues from a previous policy would no longer be covered. They could not produce any evidence of their sales agent telling me of this policy. pet's best is anything but the best and they are not to be trusted. They are happy to take your money and deny you reimbursement. A typical insurance company that has a team to look over your claim with a fine tooth comb to deny coverage. They're the WORST.
This was my first claim after switching from another provider. It was super easy in comparison. They needed my cat's medical history and were able to get it without having me call or go back and forth between them which was great. After that the claim was processed speedily and I received the payment in my account immediately. I also received an itemized explanation of benefits. Overall I'm very impressed and would recommend to anyone!
Been with Embrace since Cody was 3 months old-now almost 8 yrs. Throughout the years the site has changed, but recently it is A+++. It is easy to navigate and submit claims, check status of numerous features, etc. All my claims have been processed timely unless there was an issue that was dependent upon vet feedback. Having insurance has given me peace of mind for medical care after losing a pet where finances became an issue for continuing care.
I've had this pet insurance through 4 rescue dogs so far and wouldn't switch for anything.
Buddy Jr. was diagnosed with idiopathic seizures over a year ago, still in the process of adjusting meds, but he gets cluster seizures periodically. We've had to go to the ER on occasion but I have peace of mind because we are insured as ER visits can be costly. They have a great neurologist and staff and Buddy's in great care there. I have 3 2 year old dogs, 1 male 2 female all mixed breeds. Originally, on starting with Trupanion, I was paying just over $300 Canadian per month for the 3 dogs. In the last few months my large dog (Major) fee has increased over 50%. The total increase for the 3 dogs is now over 25% and now over $400 Canadian per month. Trupanion have not supplied an acceptable answer as to why the drastic increase. only a resending of the original fee increase E-Mail. No multi dog discount is offered.
We lost our dog on June 8, 2021. Since, then, I have filed everything that was needed to process the claim (vet bills and reports). For the first month whoever was reviewing the claim was looking at the different claim from 2019. Once we cleared that off the table, I have been waiting for them to reimburse us for part of the claim and prorated premiums. Its has been over 2.5 months. And still they cant get back to me with any response. When call, they are still reading comments that were left by a previous employee. They seems to be unable to add any new comments and make take any steps in completing this claim. I tried to talk to supervisor, who assured me everything will be taken care, only to fail to add comments from that conversation, so that threw us back by few weeks. It seems that once your pet is gone na you are not paying any monthly premiums, you do not exist as far as they are concern. We are trying to put her death past us, but this ordeal with the insurance makes you relief her death over and over again. No help, just making you feel worthless. Horrible, upsetting and unforgettable.
I have been so impressed with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. My dog has has a series of health issues over the last year, but because of Healthy Paws I have been able to avoid worrying about the financials and focus on my dog's health. All of the recent claims I have made have been processed quickly and reimbursed even quicker (often within 24 hours). After his recent surgery, the Healthy Paws team even followed up to check on his recovery!
