My sweet lab mix dislocated his hip at the age of 4 and required a total hip replacement one week after initiating th his policy at NC State vet hospital. The bill was $6700 and Trupanion paid $5500 of it within one week by direct deposit. My buddy is getting around pain free and I am so happy he is ok thanks to these guys and great veterinary care. I feel like I should’ve been told up front I would need all of the dogs vet records from when he was adopted even before the insurance started. Not having all of that delayed my initial first 5 claims almost 3 months because I had to keep going back and getting more documents and start the review process all over again. I haven’t had an issue since that was taken care of and receive my reimbursements now in a much more timely manner.
