Don't do it....
I could not be more disappointed... Let me preface this by saying that I am a "give them the benefit of the doubt" kind of person. I really am. However, these guys have fried my last nerve. I have had pets my entire life. I have never purchased insurance before and thought that it may be worth the investment after speaking to a friend about her pet insurance experience (different company). After a lot of research, I chose Pets Best. My dog was playing with her sister and tweaked her leg and was limping. We took her to the vet and submitted the claim right afterwards... nothing. No response, no emails, nothing. I called. They said that they hadn't received anything from me. Please resubmit. Done. Nope... still didn't get it. "Let me go check the junk mail" they said. By golly! There it was. OK. Now we are going to get rolling... They processed the claim..... Declined. Why? I was still within my wait policy for "illness". I'm sorry.. what? No my dog wasn't limping because she was sick.... she was limping because she injured it playing. They asked me to resubmit the claim... done. After several weeks, it was declined again.... why? Because when I was at the vet, I said that she hurt her leg "4 or 5 days ago". The records also indicated that she had a previous history of limping... ON THE OTHER LEG!!! This vet visit was over a year before. They also went on to explain that the vet records didn't specifically state that I "saw" her get hurt playing. It said that she may have been playing but it may be elbow dysplasia. We could do x-rays to narrow that down. X-rays done - they came out looking fine. They could tell I was getting upset so they said that I could appeal the decision. I asked how I would go about doing that. They explained that I needed to get a note from my veterinarian with an exact date of injury and it needed to specifically say that she hurt herself playing. Alright- fine. I'm sure my veterinarian has nothing better to do than this but whatever. I got the note and submitted the claim via email. I waited weeks before calling again... you would think by now I would have learned my lesson... but I figure that they are likely very busy and with shut downs due to COVID-19, things would likely be taking longer anyway. Can you guess what happened next? Yep.... they couldn't find my claim. I sent it to them again, while on the phone with them... still nothing. "Let me go check the junk folder"... BAM! There it was. That was 29 days ago. I called today to check on the progress. "Appeals take anywhere from 30 to 60 days. We are not within that window. When we are done reviewing it, we will send you a letter." So basically, it's was "don't call us, we will call you" scenario. I decided it was time to leave a review in hopes that I could spare someone else from going through all of this. I jumped on their chat function. I was next in line. Twelve minutes late, I was speaking to an agent. I asked where could I leave a review of the company. She gave me a link that didn't work. She sent it again... I told her it was coming up inactive. I asked that she please click on the link she sent me so she could see it herself. She said it worked fine on her end and that she was sorry I was having difficulties. I used my own brain and googled what she sent me..... petinsurancereviews. Please notice the "s" at the end of the link... She was typing in this site but SPELLED IT WRONG! I told her that I found... I told her there was no "s" at the end of the reviews. She apologized, "I'm so sorry about that. I'm glad you found it." So - did she actually click on the link she sent me, of course not... but thanks for wasting my time... again...I should have just done it myself to begin with. So here I sit, June 27th, waiting on the $500 claim that I submitted January 14th. Once this is over... I will cancel the policy. What a waste of time and money.

Really good pet insurance I
The insurance paid 90% of the hospital bill. I don’t think I could have afforded it without the insurance. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely amazing service
We couldn’t be happier with Nationwide insurance coverage. Our pup had to go to the emergency vet (unexpectedly) and once I submitted the claim, it was processed within a week and we were refunded the highest amount based on our plan within 3 weeks. Customer service was extremely helpful when I was having a log-in issue and followed up to make sure I was all set. We are so happy Nationwide was recommended to us, and would definitely recommend to other pet owners!

Very pleased
Excellent service. Super-easy to file claims, and payment is reimbursed in less than a week, typically. Very glad I went with your company!

We are not getting any value from this policy - every claim is rejected at approx 90%. Very disappointing.
This is an insurance policy that calls a puppy's "throw-up" a preexisting condition. Seriously. Then the neutering costs $570, and we received $118 back. It's abysmal. Today I took time from work to call to review this and try to make sense of an insurance policy that doesn't seem to cover anything , and I'm told that because it's in my daughter's name they can't talk to me about it. Why not, are we talking about the puppy's privacy? No, she says, it's protecting the privacy of my daughter and her financial information. Hello. That is my credit card, and those expenses go to me, hence the call in the first place. So I think we're all clear regarding financial privacy. This is a very disappointing customer experience, I've received no financial relief, no information, no follow up, and no helpful attitude.
