Surprisingly amazing in a world full of insurance loopholes that don’t end in favor of the consumer

After 11+ years with my dog, we’ve never had an emergency visit to the vet. She had a run in with a chain linked fence and her paw lost the ‘fight,’ so we ended up at an emergency vet on a Friday night. $1500 later, I was sure I’d be paying almost all of it given that human health insurance is such a goatrope. I hadn’t realized previously but we’d met the deductible and I was pleasantly surprised to see this insurance policy had paid for almost ALL of her visit, and within less than a week of the visit (not sure if this is typical but other related claims filed since have also been paid out really quickly). I will and have already recommended Nationwide to anyone who will listen.... and will be keeping it for both of my fur babies. Also came highly recommended by her regular vet.

CRAPPY SERVICE

This is a HORRIBLE company. I signed up for them early on May 9 because my dog's previous insurance associated with her vet's office was too expensive. Of course, the moment this previous policy expired, something cut her paw while on a walk. She had to be taken to the vet the same day that I signed up for her new insurance policy with Pets Best. I had no idea if I would be needing them or not, but I was hoping that no matter what she would be covered that day. I got my bill at the end of the day and told my vet about the new policy and they gave me the documents to submit for a reimbursement. I filed a claim and TWO MONTHS LATER, I am still getting the runaround. I emailed the company and they rather rudely said that my policy didn't actually take effect until THREE DAYS after May 9. So I said that was not transparent of them and they condescendingly explained to me "how insurance works" and said some policies don't take effect that day. Being a grown ass woman, I told them I understood that and that I was simply telling them that that isn't transparent because if that was in the front facing message or the main message given to me the day I signed up, I would have canceled it. I'm canceling my policy just for the sheer fact that the person emailing is rude. Go anywhere else, I know I am.

Very quick processing of claims & friendly & knowledgeable agents.

I've been with Nationwide for 2 years, & every time I work with them, they become more quicker & efficient----just when I thought they couldn't be any better! The few times I had to speak with someone at Nationwide, they were always so friendly, caring, & knowledgeable. Very easy to talk to & understand.

Fantastic company, honest and kind

I have now been with trupanion for approximately 6 years. My second dog, adopted in 2015, is now 10 years old with an expected life of 15 years so she is a senior dog. She had blood in her urine and stool, which turned out to be crystals in her urine and issues with her food and gut, and the claim was submitted yesterday it is now 9:45 a.m. Saturday and it is already approved without any argument for exactly the amount that I anticipated. This company has so much integrity and dealing with their staff you recognize how kind they are and how much they genuinely care about the pets and the owners. I always recommend this to friends and people who admire my dogs. because I know they are thinking of getting a pet, you really can't go wrong with a company this honorable and reliable and trustworthy.
