Technical issues
There were transmission issues with a group of claims submitted w/r/t my cat Nicholas. Amanda H helped me to resolve these issues in several phone calls on June 27 and July 1, 2025. She was knowledgeable, professional, and truly went above and beyond in getting this resolved. I cannot thank Amanda H enough for the kind and thorough help she provided. She is the best!

Claims are quick and easy to process
Trupanion is always super-responsive when I submit a claim. Usually they approve the claim within 24 hours; if it's going to take longer, they keep me informed. While their online claim procedure can be wonky at times (not saving information, making it difficult if your provider isn't listed as an option), I can always force it to work in the end.

SCAM
They refuse to cover ANYTHING and will blatantly lie and gaslight you when you try to confront them about anything. They told me my cat had "never received a dental cleaning" even though it was CLEARLY in his claims records that he has one before. They just adamantly denied it and said "well you can try to appeal if you want". They are a SCAM.

I just wanted wellness
I just wanted wellness. But your site states that I had to get accidental. It also states that accidental would not be approved for 2 weeks and wellness was right away. You guys wanted 2 months in advance. No problem. I scheduled my pup for a wellness visit and went to print out the docs. Both the wellness and accidental was effective in 2 weeks. Talking about a bait and switch. So I called the rep and she stated to me a lie….”oh yeah, if you would have just had the wellness alone, it is right away.” That’s a lie because your policy states that you had to have accidental with all plans chosen. I even went back in to disprove her statement. So I had to cancel her visit because had I went in, it would have been all out of pocket costs and they wouldn’t have covered anything.
