I had a 4 month old toy poodle who suddenly became sick and was diagnosed with liver failure, cause unknown. Unfortunately, she passed on 3 days later. The claim was submitted by the veterinarian and within 5 days, I was notified the claim had been approved and the check was on its way via Fed-Ex. My daughter gave me another 10 week old puppy and I immediately signed her up with Trupanion. The people at Trupanion were so kind and helpful, and I couldn't be happier.

I just signed up with Embrace for my 2 1/2 year old Havanese. So far, I have been very impressed with the customer service I have received. I have just recently gotten my policy and have not yet had to file a claim, however I feel when the time comes, all will go well.I would highly recommend.

I am saddened to say that I have experienced a couple of disappointing customer service interactions with Pets Best. For the past 2-3 years, we have insured two of our family dogs with this company. A 5 year old Jack Russell and a 12 year old collie. As expected, our 12 year old collie has been experiencing arthritic symptoms. Pets Best has denied claims that they felt were related to this diagnosis. They stated that his diagnosis was pre-existing before implementation of the policy, when it wasn't. Recently, I had decided to discontinue service with this company, because of claims being submitted and not being covered as expected. On Friday, 09 Oct 09, I decided to call them to see if I could continue the policy and make a premium payment (as recommended by them via an email message). I was told that that policy had expired; so I established a new policy. On Saturday, 10 Oct 09, our collie's arthritic symptoms worsened, so we took him in for a veterinarian appointment. We have now been informed that his condition isn't related to arthitis, but requires a neurology consultation. This afternoon, I spoke with two female representatives from Pets Best and provided them with the information that we had received. They informed me that regardless of when his neurology appointment is scheduled and the diagnosis received, his condition will not be covered; because he was experiencing symptoms before the 14-day coverage period. This is disappointing because, after years of being a customer, I didn't feel that they had our pet's best interest at heart. It seemed to be a "just business" interaction. What happened to their motto, "We care about you and your pet"?

I've had petpartners for a couple of years now. But I am going to change to another insurance company. They are the worst when it comes to picking apart your claim. You pay high premiums and get hardly anything back. My premium just went up again -$90- and I refuse to pay that increase. I would never recommend them. Just take your time and look into these other companies. You will find what's right for you. I am considering Petplan.

I just wanted to make a comment to thank everyone at Pets Best for the wonderful customer service I have received since I began my policy for my 2 pups back in January. I am living on a limited income being an employee at one of the few still standing mortgage companies and having no pay increase in 2 years. My dogs are my pride and joy and recently have experienced a few different types of unexpected illnesses. Knowing that I have the security that Pets Best will help with covering those medical bills has been such a huge relief. I had a few people suggest that I give up my dogs to save money but I am sure as you know working at a company that supports an animals well being these “dogs” are my children not just disposable pets. Anyhow I really just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart because I have dealt with other companies that do not come close to your turn times and expertise not to mention you guys actually CARE! Thank you again!!!

I am very disappointed. Both of my 11 yr old cats are new to Embrace. In total it costs me 540+ dollars to cover them for a year. As they are older, you would not allow their illnesses to be covered. It would have been more economical to use that money to directly pay out of pocket vet bills than to pay for both the insurance and the vet bills. I think initially, you had false advertising...and I was mislead. I certainly am not going to get your insurance next year.

Our dog Bailey had three operations and ASPCA Ins helped us to be able to provide the best care for our Bailey.

Pepper went through so many health problems and had a couple of big operations. When Pepper was 8 years old, I was newly divorced and hard to keep up with his medical bills everytime he needed vet care. Vet Insurance was the only pet isurance company accepted my application for enrollment although the others denied my application because Pepper was too old. He had two big life threatening surgeries, and one was spleen rupture when Pepper was 10. My bills was astonomical. However, thanks to Vet Insurance, it was 90% covered, and I didn't have to worry about going broke. Instead, I was able to focus on taking care of him. I give a huge credit to Vet Insurance for helping Pepper prolong his life and live happy, not to mention give me peace of mind. He passed away last year, but our vet told me it was miracle that he outlived 5 more years of borrowing time after the big surgery. During late years of Pepper, I was re-married and moved to US. After Pepper's passing, we thought we would never have another pet because of dealing with pet's loss. My husband was surfing Craigslist to look for something else and found ad for beagle puppy for adoption. We called up the original ownder and met the puppy. We fell in love with him instanteneously. That was not our plan to have another pet, but we could not help ourselves. He was born on Halloween and we picked him up on Friday the 13th (of February) so we re-named him Lucky for good luck. He is a loving happy dog. Thanks to wonderful experience with Vet Insurance I knew I have to get insurance for him so I began to research for pet insurance company in US. And I was so extatic to find out that Vet Insurance opened a company for US market called Trupanion. I knew Trupanion will give me great coverage at very competitive rate as well as excellent customer service just like Vet Insruance. And I was right. Trupanion offer very unique coverage that fits to anybody's budget and circumstances. Very simple to file claim and fast to get reinbursement check. And they will personally take good care of you. They follow up each claim and keep you updated by calls and e-mails. The representatives are very sinsere and care about you and your pets. I am very happy with Trupanion. Lucky is just a puppy, and he has many years to go so I am very confident that through Trupanion, we can provide him the best medical care without any finincial stress from big expenses when unexpected illness or accident occurs in the future. With Trupanion, we can keep Lucky happy and waggling his tail for a long time. In my opinion, Vet Insurance / Trupanion is the best in the market. I recommend to all my friends and family. I've submitted several claims (the oldest dating back to late August, more than 5 weeks ago) and have yet to receive resolution on any of them. They did not make good on their promise of a 15-day response and they have not been very communicative. Each time I inquire about the status of the claims I hear that they are very busy, they're sorry, etc. I chose Embrace largely due to the positive reviews I saw on this site. I have yet to see anything to support those reviews.
