Glad I have Pet Insurance

We just got insurance for our 4 month old Cavalier King Charles and I'm really happy that we have it. We've only submitted claims for flea and tick prevention and his last set of shots, but we Pets Best is reimbursing us for most of the shot expense and some for the flea pills. Their turn-around time was impressive and I'm glad we have the insurance.

Much better than the alternatives

I previously had SPCA pet insurance and Embrace is much better. They offer many different customizable levels of coverage and they are generally quick about paying claims. Perhaps the best part is that they cover conditions that most companies will not cover (hip dysplasia in labs for instance).

I wish my own health insurance was so prompt!

Unlike human health insurance companies (oh, how I wish!), Embrace offers attentive, prompt, friendly, and thorough service. However, I do wish there wasn't such a small cap on the Wellness coverage. We got our Cavalier puppy when she was 5 months old, so after 1 vet checkup as our pet, with a few necessary shots and a heartworm medicine purchase (which I haven't yet submitted as of this writing), there isn't much left in the kitty, so to speak. And she'll need a Lyme booster next week, and will be spayed next month. So we'll really be out of pocket this year and our coverage just started! Therefore, while I would recommend Embrace highly for their excellent customer service, as the owner of a puppy, who because of her age (or youth) requires additional basic wellness care (shots, spaying) than an older dog might, The $149 Wellness coverage that reimburses up to a maximum of $200 a year, is not that much of a bargain. Perhaps Embrace might consider adding a "puppy plan" that dog owners can tailor to their needs. :)-

Very nice to have.

Pets Best Insurance provided the extra coverage I needed to ensure that my dog Lucy got the best care through the last year of her life. After being diagnoses with the onset of heart failure, Pets Best made it possible for me to give her a great quality last year of her life. Her policy covered a large amount of vet visits and procedures as well as her mounting medication costs. Claims were easily submitted and processed quickly. I would recommend Pets Best to anyone who has a pet that they care dearly about. It was a great comfort when Lucy fell ill.

They missed this one

I have to start out by saying that I have had absolutely nothing but the best to say about Embrace Pet Insurance....except this time they missed this one. It took a long time for them to process and after a couple of inquiries they processed the claim (it was a small claim, though, so nothing real upsetting). It was also one of 3 claims submitted and the other two claims were promptly handled. Initially, I wasn't going to write anything, but then decided it was better to give the most honest reviews.

Best Thing I Could Have Bought For My Dog

I would recommend Pet's Best Insurance to every pet owner. We have owned dogs for 40 years and bought the insurance for the first time for our rescue Rocky Dog who is part border collie. Rocky has been to the emergency vet twice in less than a year because the first time he found a rotten salmon by a river bank and the second time he opened a "child proof but not dog proof" bottle of Rimidyl that was for his sister dog and ate the bottle of pills.I submitted the claims to Pet's Best insurance and both times they responded quickly and reimbursed me without a question. I wish our medical insurance was that efficient.

Reliable/timely

We have had four dogs over the last 20 years - we currently have two labs - the youngest is Sadie. She is constantly getting into trouble. My sister calls her Marlene because she is a female "Marley" (mischievious, incorrigible, and totally lovable." Sadie continues to get in predicaments that result in her getting hurt - cut paws, you name it - she does it. PetHealth hs been an excellent insurer - they respond to our claims quickly via email, then send the reimbursement shortly thereafter. It is easy to submit a claim and we are very pleased with the value-level coverage. We love our pup and know if anything terribly serious happens to her, we can quickly take care of her and be reimbursed. A good insurance company with excellent customer service. I especially like the $100 annual deductible. Works well with this pup.

Great customer service

This is my first experience with Pet Insurance, and so far, I'm very pleased. They don't have the integrated website features that other companies have, but this is more than made up for with the very responsive customer service. Claims are processed fairly and in a very timely manner. I recommend Embrace to anyone looking for a pet insurance company. Unfortunately Embrace isn't licensed by the state of California, and I had to sign a waiver acknowledging this. But I feel comfortable that Embrace is a solid company, and not very concerned about that. The Wellness plan is a good idea if you plan on spending over $200 a year (including any medications). You end up saving $50 there automatically, plus you can get up to 20% off your plan with a) a 5% promotion code, b) paying premium in full (5%), c) your pet is neutered or fixed (5%), d) your pet is microchipped (5%). It's also an Ohio-based company, and people in the midwest are usually very courteous and pleasant to deal with.

Affordable peace of mind

Our Chocolate Labrador Retreiver, Wally, has been covered by ASPCA pet insurance for the past two years. While the insurance doesn't cover the cost of routine vet visits, it has paid for itself already and has given us the peace of mind that we won't be forced to choose between doing the right thing and ending up broke. It makes having a curious playful dog a lot less of a financial roll of the dice.

Premium almost doubled

Last year, my 2-yr-old Chihuahua was treated for an insect bite at a vet and I filed a claim. In their defense, the claim process was smooth. When the renewal notice came recently, the premium had practically doubled. They cited several reasons such as inflation(huh? I thought what we experienced over the last year was closer to deflation and inflation), claim patterns, etc. I am so switching back to another company we used to have.
