Started with Embrace after a rather horrible 12 months period with my three dogs. It has functioned as I had hoped. Mostly I have paid the premiums and not put in claims. But...when I have had to put in claims I have been very pleased with my experience. Sometimes it seems like I've had to do lots of paperwork but this was just because on the initial claims for a dog, you are asked for more. I am very appreciative that Embrace covers hereditary conditions. I have cavalier king charles spaniels which are prone to mitral valve disease and had few choice in companies who would voer this.

My feline had a checkup in 7/10 and passed with flying colors. In early November of 2010 I took him to the vet because of an increase in fluid intake. A blood panel and urine culture was done to find out what was going on. Both claims were denied because of pre-existing condition. I was told that because the increase of fluid intake was mentioned in the vet's notes that the claim processors labeled it as kidney failure and denied the claim as pre-existing. I don't know how they could diagnose when my vet was still trying to rule out things that could be wrong. An accurate diagnosis on his part had yet to be made.

We submitted the claim by Fax the next morning, we had an immediate response by e-mail from Trupanion and the claim was processed and paid in less than a week. Trupanion staff are helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. This is our third dog and third insurance company (one per dog !). This is the best yet. We have had ASPCA Pet Insurance since our two 9 year old SpringerSpaniels were 2 years old. They have been very healthy for most of their lives and we used the insurance for minor diagnostic incidences. However, our female,Savanna had ACL surgery earlier this year and our male, Spencer recently had test after test done to no avail and passed away a month ago. It is heartbreaking to watch your "best friend" go through an illness. Having this wonderful insurance helped us fund the treatment that brought Savanna back to her daily walks. Unfortunately, all the tests for our beloved Spencer couldn't cure his cancer but we were able to give him every chance available with the help of ASPCA. On top of that we received a beautiful sympathy card from ASPCA after Spencer passed. It touched our hearts that they care. Thank you - we wouldn't be without it. Jack and Sally Hefti

My dog had 2 lumps on his chest that had grown very rapidly over the last 2 months. We had both removed and checked by a pathologist. The total bill was close to $1100, which included a dental cleaning (not included in his plan) we decided to do while he was under anesthesia. In less than 2 weeks, Embrace reimbursed use for their percentage of everything covered under his plan.

I insured my 6-month-old Chihuahua/terrier mix right from the start, even though she is a healthy, young pup. Perhaps I had learned my lesson from a previous pet who fell ill when I was unemployed. I felt so helpless and went into debt because as a pet parent, I tried to do all that I can for my then Shih Tzu, who later died after being hospitalized for a week. Needless to say, I never want to be in that place again. I weeped every time I went into the animal hospital to pay for the remaining bill, which my vet was nice enough to offer me an installment plan. This is my first pet with insurance, and I'm learning the benefits as we go. We're less than one year into the policy, and I've filed about 5 claims from booster shots, annual checkup to upset stomach and surgery to get spayed. Sure, not everything is covered under my plan and some misc. items such as waste disposal fee and some blood tests are not covered. But having said that, it has more than paid for itself for a peace of mind that is priceless. I met my deductible 6 months into the plan, and I'm a firm believer now and I plan on renewing pet insurance next year. I wanted to write this so it may help someone in need too. As for ASPCA, the agents on the phone have all been very personable. I have a great experience with them because they understand my needs. I have never hesitated to take my Lab Samie to the vet when needed but it is comforting to know that ASPCA Pet Insurance will help cover some of the cost. I am pleased woth the coverage I have and with the premiunm cost. I know it's there if I and Samir need it

Trupanion is incredible. My 4 yr old rottie Marley is an accident waiting to happen. I have spent more money in medical expenses in his 4 years than I did on two other rotties that both lived to be 12 yrs. So I decided that it was time to purchase insurance. After researching various plans I decided on Trupanion. Less than two months after enrolling, Marley tore his ACL and required surgery ($3858). Unbelievabley Trupanion has covered 90% of the cost of this surgery. I cannot say enough good things about this insurance!! I am not someone who usually writes reviews but this company has come through for me. I would highly recommend Trupanion.
