Can't imagine being without it!

Jada was flown to Indy from Portland Oregon. She weighed 14lbs, was given a guaranteed bill of health along with a 30 day trial enrollment to Trupanion Insurance. To ensure she arrived in good health from her travels, she was examined by our local veterinarian. She passed her wellness exam in flying colors. With the 30 trial enrollment coming to an end, I needed to make a decision whether to enroll or let the insurance lapse. I had pets all my life and could never justify the need for insurance. Besides Jada was a healthy dog with showmanship breeding. After much struggle, I decided to give the insurance a trial run. Little did I know that in a matter of a week after enrolling Jada in the Trupanion Insurance program that I would be needing it. One Sunday evening, Jada experienced some major nasal respiratory issues and struggled to breathe. This led to a late night emergency veterinary visit which resulted in some major unexpected expenses. A claim was filed with Trupanion and true to their advertisement, a reimbursement was issued. Another incident occurred, when Jada was recently scheduled to be spayed. She had an extreme allergic reaction to the “twilight” drug used to relax animals prior to surgery. This resulted in elevated heart rate and required an animal cardiologist and continual monitoring. Once again a claim was filed with Trupanion and a reimbursement was issued. The good news to this story is that Jada is doing fine now. She weighs in at 49lbs.

Great Company!

I have just signed up for a second year of Embrace Pet Insurance for my two Australian Shepherds. I was impressed with the company from the very start because they agreed to cover my older Aussie (5 at the time) who had Valley Fever. They will not cover the Valley Fever, but have covered all other health issues and meds for both dogs. Reimbursement is always fast. Thank you Embrace for giving me the opportunity to give great healthcare to my dogs without worrying about the price tag.

MAKE SURE YOU SHOP AROUND

I have had Trupanion for over 15 months now- and only one claim for one dog- when my pup jumped off the back of the truck before we got the ramp down and he injured his back leg. This was a claim of under $280 and we have not been to the vet since. I was notified that the $90.00 a month I was paying in premiums for my two dogs was now going up to $180.00 a month for the premium. Are you serious? Double the premium- I am a great customer, do not over use my insurance- take excellent care of my dogs with supplements, holistic food- all in the hopes in avoiding a vet visit for an illness/disease. Trupanion has left a terrible taste in my mouth, and myself and several others that I work with are dropping Trupanion and going to another reputible pet insurance carrier- whom has coverage in all 50 states! Very disappointed to say the lease!

Great insurance, very impressed.

We adopted a senior persian cat and didn't have much hope of finding an insurance willing to cover him. The ASPCA accepted him luckily, and we assumed the coverage would be minimal at best. What we got was comprehensive coverage that was better than any of the insurances our other (much younger) pets have. A few months ago, Remington stopped eating and it took a battery of tests to find out he had kidney disease. Once that was detected, the maintenance was costly (liquid medicines, sub-q fluids, etc). In one of my claims to the ASPCA, I attached a letter and requested special consideration because I lived in NYC and the general costs were higher. They responded by covering the cost even more. I can't tell you what a relief that was. Unfortunately Remington was diagnosed with cancer last week, and it comforts me to know that cost is not what has to be first and foremost on my mind. Pet insurance really is great. There were a few times when I thought Remington might be sick or was behaving weird, and knowing that I had pet insurance was the deciding factor in taking him to the vet, and I was always glad I did. It was such a comfort to have a competent insurance company as a safety net. ASPCA also has great customer service; I like that I can call and actually talk to a friendly human being right off the bat. I don't feel like a number. If you're on the fence about insurance, do it. I'm so glad I did and I wholeheartedly recommend ASPCA.
