THANK GOD FOR PET INSURANCE

AFTER MY MIXED LAB BRANDY WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES I DECIDED TO PUT ALL MY PETS ON HEALTH INSURANCE. I CAME HOME FROM WORK ONE MORNING AND THERE LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE HAD BEEN MASECARED IN MY HOUSE. THERE WAS BLOOD EVERYWHERE BLACKJACK,MY PUREBRED LAB HAD SPLIT OPEN HIS TAIL AND WAS BLEEDING BADLEY. I COULDN'T GET A BANDAGE TO STAY ON IT ,SO I DROVE HIM TO THE VETS LIKE THAT. IT TOOK THREE OF US TO HOLD HIM DOWN TO GIVE HIM A SHOT. WE CAME HOME WITH A CONE AND WRAPPED UP TAIL.HE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO BUMP THE CONE AND PUSH IT BACK SO HE COULD CHEW OFF THE BANDAGES. AFTER AFEW TRIPS TO THE VETS AND BLACKJACK CHEWING ABOUT 4" OFF HIS TAIL WE HAD TO GET IT AMPUTATED. I PUT THE SURGERY ON A CARE CREDIT CARD. BECAUSE I HAD PAID THE DEDUCTABLE FROM BLACKJACKS PREVIOUS VISITS I WAS ABLE TO PAY OFF THE CARD. THANK GOD FOR ASPCA.

Totally Worth It!

My dog is big (100lbs) and getting older. I figured SOMEthing's going to happen sooner or later so I looked into insurance. I picked Trupanion because it seemed pretty straightforward. 8 months after I enrolled, my dog had a life-threatening emergency and ended up in ICU at the animal hospital. I was out of the state when it happened, and when I got the call from the hospital asking what I wanted to do should he need the $3600 emergency surgery... I felt so relieved that I could without a doubt say 'yes, please do it'. It was stressful enough worrying about my best buddy's health from 2300 miles away! He didn't end up having the surgery, but the tab still managed to be $1700 for all they had to do & his night in the ICU. I paid the deductible, exam fees, & 10% of the remaining amount so my part was $570. Trupanion sent me a check for $1130, which was $1130 I didn't have to cover! My dog is recovering and I am not worried about paying off thousands of dollars. The claim was simple and Trupanion had great communication with me throughout the process. Now dog insurance doesn't seem so 'crazy' to my friends. :)

Best Customer Service in the Pet Insurance Market

My Shih Tsu puppy had a bladder infection and symptoms of kidney stones. The bloodwork/tests ran $350+. I brought her to my vet on a Fri at 2pm, and by 630p that night, I received an email from Healthy Paws stating my claim had been received, processed, and my refund would be mailed that day! I received the check, as promised, about 3 days later. Healthy Paws is absolutely phenominal in the level of customer service provided. I recommend them to everyone I know who have an animal. You guys are the BEST!

Absolutely Disgraceful and Immoral

I switched insurance on my Maltese this year, when he was 12 years old, because his old insurance did not insure conditions which a dog was being treated for once the yearly renewal date came around. Although they paid consistently [though not 80%] over the years, I thought this was a bad policy to have for an older dog, a dog loved and cared for in the most tender way. Four months after being insured by Pets Best, my dog had high insulin levels. An ultrasound was done, claiming it was the pancreas. Then a CT scan, which said the pancreas was fine, but there was a liver mass. The liver mass was studied under laparoscopic surgery and it was determined it should be removed so the surgery was converted to a full surgery. They found a liver tumor and removed it and yesterday I found out that it was cancerous, although, Thank G-d, the prognosis is good. The ultrasound was $500; the CT scan 1490; the surgery $4400. Pets Best has not paid a dime! They claim it was all pre-existing. Can you belive a liver tumor was pre-existing when his vet did a wellness ultrasound in April 2011 and found everything OK; when another ultrasound was done in August and the liver was again OK, and then in September a cancerous tumor was found. PETS BEST DOES NOT WANT TO INSURE OLDER DOGS. I have appealed the ultrasound [twice} and will appeal the other two, and maybe contact parent company, Aetna. Doubt if they will do anything. I am considering going to a lawyer.

ASPCA is a great investment for my little love.

ASPCA has always been very considerate and caring when i have needed them. Even when I was upset due to the injuries of my sweet miamine the representatives helped me to feel better and reassured me that they were there for me if I needed to ask questions, talk and demonstrated their love of animals as well. ASPCA has always been timely in processing and reimbursing me on my claims. I am proud to have this insurance on a little someone that loves me so unconditionally as I love her. My Kmiamine!

Decisions

We once owned a little sweetie named Daisy. Daisy was a chihuahua and in her seventh year got lymphoma a type of cancer. We spent thousands on her care and it would have been nice to have insurance. Now I am one of two mothers for CoCo and when we got her I said " No insurance, No dog" We have already saved money. It is easier to come up with monthly charges than thousands once your Little one gets sick
