I got Healthy Paws pet insurance when we got our goldendoodle puppy. I know puppies are curious and get into everything and sure enough he ate a skewer with steak on it. He endend up getting a abscess because the skewer had poked through his stomach into some fatty tissue and caused an abcess and infection. Thank goodness I signed up for pet insurance.

While on a trip we had to make an emergency stop at a Walmart because they were the only people with the right sized tire. They would not allow our Newfoundland Thunder into any air conditioned space in the bldg. As a result he suffered a very bad case of heat stroke with temp over 109. We stopped at the first clinic we could and they stabilized him and got his temp to normal. We then had to drive another 1.5 hours to find an emergency clinic open 24/7. He spent 4 days in their intensive care unit with plasma and whole blood along with a host of other treatment. Total bill was over $6,000 when the blood check up after we got home was factored in . This was the first claim we had made to Trupanion in 5 years. It took about 3 weeks total which they told me it would since it was the first claim. They paid exactly as they said they would- 90% of the 3 visits, less the deductible and the exam fees which were not covered.

I received my check for my wellness claim on my cat almost immediately. Very fast and great service.

My 1 1/2 year old Ragdoll suddenly began to have a terrible hacking cough. Diagnosis and treatment involved X-Rays and then Sedation X-rays, two medications and a cost of over $500. They did not disappoint. Promptly received reimbursement on my claims, minus the office visit and deductible, exactly as their plan was described. I cannot rave enough about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. My dog had Pancreatitis (knock on wood). Pancreatitis can be a deadly infliction, I've had one of my dogs pass away from it a year ago. Rasputin had to be hospitalized, which was extremely expensive. The emergency vet was kind enough to fax my claim the same day. Healthy Paws immediately contacted me via email and helped me thru the claim process. During the days that followed, Healthy Paws kept me in the loop concerning the claim and actually showed concern and compassion for my dog. To wrap things up, I received prompt reimbursement for my claim. Thank you Healthy Paws!!
