Good insurance for healthy pets only...

I have had Petfirst for 2 years. Unfortunately, my cat got diagnosed with diabetes the first year of coverage, so I could not change insurance providers for him. I was assured that he was covered. Petfirst was great about paying my claims...until I really needed them. The fine print, about not covering long-term or chronic illnesses came back to haunt me. This November, I rushed him to the vet. He was diagnosed with ketoacidosis and liver failure. He fought a long fit, but he passed away the same week. I spent over $2000 in an attempt to save his life. I submitted my claim for the bills, and everything was denied. They said that I had reached my limit...that it was all diabetes and it would not be covered. To them it was all diabetes. To the vet and myself it was ketones and organ failure. In denying my claim, all the pain and grief have been brought back. I will now carry this grief along with this debt. So to others be wary. If I could do over again, I would never have gone with a company that has policies like this.

AMAZING!

OK, so this is not the first pet insurance carrier I've tried so I speak with experiance in which company I think is the best, and its by far, Embrace. Things I like most are: 1. There is an actual person that answers the phone and addresses your questions, etc. Not like an answering service type person, but a real person that actually cares about your pet. 2. The claim form isn't confusing and its easy to submit all your information. 3. You don't need all kinds of ridiculous paperwork to get your policy started. 4. The turnaround time for a reimbursment check is reasonable 5. The way that your policy is broken down is easy to understand.

They're nice even if you make a mistake

I have recently insured my cats for the first time and purchased wellness coverage. I took one of my cats for a checkup as well as treatment for a pre-existing condition. When I submitted the claim, I indicated it was for a wellness checkup only. They caught and notified me of the mistake, and then politely reminded me when I was... well, lazy... about resubmitting the corrected form. Once they got the correction, they paid the claim really fast. Really, really fast, actually. One doesn't usually expect such conscientious customer service from an insurance company!

One of a kind...

I did my research thoroughly and definitely wanted a 'wellness' program so after careful reading ALOT of the reviews on this site, I decided to get Embrace(they offer 100% on wellness w/ no deductible & no co-pays!) They are genuine when it comes to customer service and definitely care for your pet's well being. Prompt, courteous, responsive emails. PLUS they offer direct deposit!!! Even better !! Got an email stating 2 business days for my refund.

I LOVE PETFIRST!!!!

I added a review to a pet insurance website a few years ago when I first got my dog Tucker because I was very impressed with Petfirst. And let me tell you he has been a "high maintenance" dog from the beginning and it hasn't stopped. I could write a book on his problems, as young, strong & healthy as he always seems to others, it is always something. Through it all they have been amazing! Unbelievably caring customer service. I couldn't even begin to say how kind and thoughtful they always are with any question. Great old fashioned personalized service, like you never find anywhere anymore by making a phone call. I depend on consumer reviews for my choices, so when I find a company that is wonderful I feel I should do the same. I hate that I have had to use it so much, but they have been a blessing to me and my dog throughout all his ordeals. I would say you can't loose on it, even if you are fortunate enough to have a healthy dog, the routine coverage pays you back a great deal already. And who can put a price on the piece of mind they give me for my ability to take care of Tucker. I would call it priceless, but I can promise you even if Tucker had never been ill, I think it is a valuable thing to have. A small investment for a peace of mind. I am greatful everyday for choosing Petfirst.

Peace of mind for my pet

After my pitbull had undergone a couple of surgeries in her second year one of my sons-in-law suggested pet insurance and she has been covered by this company ever since. Their coverage has always seemed prompt and pretty generous and I have appreciated greater peace of mind over the years. My dog has done well over the years because of regular veterinary care, good diet and natural supplements designed to keep her as healthy as possible and I am hoping that nothing too serious will happen in the future but one never knows. She experienced hip dysplasia in one hip (the other looks great), tore both her cruciate ligaments at different times, had the top of her femur removed but hasn't had surgeries for many years. Recently she was diagnosed with Horner's Syndrome in one eye. I was told that 50% of such cases are idiopathic and go away on their own and her eye does seem to be looking much better recently.

Thank you thank you!

Ever since I found out that the love of my life had hip and elbow displaysia it's been an up hill battle. Thanks to Embrace she will be able to get the rehab she needs for her hips to keep her from having surgery! THANK you THANK you Embrace!!

new customer likes efficient service

I enrolled three pets in Enbrace Pet Insurance with optional coverage for routine visits, last month. This month I took all three pets to the vet 2 weeks ago, submitted the information last week and Embrace is issuing a check as of today. Communication seems quick and service is efficient. So, as a new client: so far, so good!

Brilliant Service - Highly Recommended

I signed up with Trupanion two years ago (when it was still Vet Insurance) and have never once regretted my decision. My monthly payments are comparable (even lower than were I to go with anyone else), I chose not to have a deductable and they have been wonderful to deal with every time I've had a question, a concern or have had to make a claim. The last claim I made was just this week. I faxed the insurance form and documentation in on Tuesday and not only recieved an email to let me know they recieved the claim, but also emailed me to let me know when it was opened and when a payment would be coming. It's been 3 days later and my claim has already been processed. They are quick, efficient and most definitely the best (and only) choice to make when deciding about pet insurance.

Purchasing Peace of Mind

I had this coverage on my Lab/Chow mix, Angel, for ten years. The renewal premiums always seemed reasonable to me for the coverage provided. I was purchasing peace of mind. If there was an accident, or when she was hospitalized for two weeks with pancreatitis at the end, I knew that at least some portion of my expenses would be recovered. I submitted several claims over the years, including two ACL surgeries, and felt that the reimbursement rates were fair. If I could suggest a change to the coverage, it would be in the pre-existing clause. If your pet is diagnosed with some illness and/or injury, when your policy renews, it is then considered a pre-existing condition and there is no further coverage for that issue. Overall, I had a positive experience with the coverage, and would purchase it again.
