I have a senior dog (approx. age 12 years)and, although her overall health was very good at the time, I decided to investigate pet insurance companies. Embrace gave me the best rates and coverage, so I signed up with them and a few months later my dog, Chelsea, started acting really lethargic. After tests, it was revealed that she had hypothyroidism and needed to be on medication for the rest of her life. The tests to determine this were expensive and my co-pay of $500 was applied. I have had a total of 3 claims for her, and EVERY time, there was something that was covered and reimbursable. I am so glad I made the choice to go with Embrace!

We had Healthy Paws for a couple of years before our first claim, which was for major abdominal surgery for our sweet female greyhound. The customer service team was great about working with us, our local small-town vet, and the university hospital to which we were referred for surgery. We had one small hiccup where an initial blood screen was not covered because the billing code at my vet ("wellness screen") made it look like a preventative screening. Healthy Paws customer service was very understanding when I called to tell them it was done in response to symptoms of the dog's illness. After a quick fax from my vet clarifying the purpose of the blood work, they re-processed my claim and it came back covered. We had no surprises as far as coverage - everything was exactly as the Healthy Paws website states and our reimbursement matched up with the plan we pay for. The customer service team reached out to me several times after my initial call to follow up and check in - they even checked in to see how our dog was doing after all the claims had processed. The whole experience made us so grateful to have pet insurance - we'll definitely maintain it for our greyhound and any future dogs we own. Based on this experience, we'll be sticking with Healthy Paws.

Healthy Paws pays promptly and without a fuss; sometimes a claim is submitted by email and approved the same day. They generally don't require an explanation of services from the vet, just a bill and a brief description of the condition from the pet owner. And most importantly, there are no defined limits as to payment. They pay 90% of the amount submitted after the deductible, less the office visit--nice and simple. About as good as you can get from pet insurance.

My 2 1/2 year old pit bull got into an Albuterol inhaler chewing a hole in it and swallowing all of the contents. He became seriously ill and required emergency veterinary treatment. Rather than worry about the cost of treatment, I was able to concentrate on getting him well. I would never go without insurance on a pet ever again. ASPCA was friendly, knowledgeable, and followed up multiple times to make sure I was comfortable with his coverage and that he was recovered.

we purchased our dog from a breeder. After trying to get Embrace Pet Insurance we learned through your required pet exam that our young German Sheppard puppy had Hip Dysplasia. It was because of your required exam that we found that out, so thanks so much for the required exam. The only problem that we have is that it is considered as a pre-existing condition. He is a very costly addition to our family, but we love him so much. Thousands of dollars have gone into him. He is so young and I do not want him to suffer. Our 8 y/o GSD required a total knee replacement. Unfortunately, things did not go smoothly and there were complications (torn ligaments) that required an additional four(!) surgeries - including ligament repair, an allograft, and ultimately a second new knee - over a period of approximately ten months. Needless to say, this was an incredibly expensive and emotionally trying ordeal. All the surgeries, follow-ups, radiographs, etc. cost approximately $20,000. We submitted over a dozen claims to Embrace throughout the experience and they were always processed and paid quickly. Because the process usually went so smoothly I rarely needed to contact Embrace. But the few times that I did I spoke to helpful and caring employees. In total, Embrace reimbursed us our annual maximum of $15,000. When your best friend is ill or injured, the very last thing you want to worry about is money. Having Embrace helped us focus on what mattered most: the health of our dog. As a result of this experience I have enthusiastically recommended Embrace to every pet owner I know. Five friends/family have already heeded my advice and insured their dogs with Embrace. Our experience is probably best summed up by the fact that my wife wants to bake ‘thank you cookies' for all the Embrace employees!
