Feline Emergency Surgery Claim handled within days

Morgan, age 1 yr, 2 mos. underwent emergency surgery at Ardenwood Pet Hospital, in Fremont, CA. after ingestion of red sewing thread, endangering his intestinal tract. The claim form was sent to Trupanion on a Tuesday, and by Thursday, I was e-mailed that 90% of the vet bill was covered - and a check would be on its way to me. I had just gone to the bank to make a payment toward the $1,000+ bill that morning. Trupanion came through for Morgan at a most crucial time. Waist of Money

We got a 4 month old Terrior who has gotten sick several times first with upset stomach, then an ear infection and finaly was diagnosed with Hip Displaysia and had surgery all before reaching 9 month. I got insurance when she was 6 month old and nothing i listed above was covered by embrace. They brushed everything off as a pre-existing condition which is not covered. I don't know about you but i don't see how an upset stomach in a 4 month old puppy becomes a pre-existing condition. I understand not covering a $2000 surgery but not covering an $120 vet bill for an upset stomach?

Faxed in paperwork and got my check in 2 weeks.

Faxed in my dogs medical history, appointment invoice, and diagnosis and got a check for everything my policy entitled me to. The only downside was my premium went up $3/month after the claim.

WE LOVE EMBRACE!

Choosing to get pet insurance was smart because we have a dog that has a weak immune system and ends up at the vet prety frequently. She is only 16 months but has had many health issues which could cause a financial dilemma for us. That stress has been alleviated because Embrace has covered every little accident and illness we have had after our deductable. I can not even put into words how phenomenal the service is. I never make times to write reviews; however, I felt compelled to discuss my feelings on Embrace. If you need pet insurance please stop looking. I did so much research about Embrace, I spoke to everyone I know with pet insurance and I am the only one with no complaints!! The best part is you get an email within 24 hours discussing your claim and they get back to you as soon as possible with the money due back to you after that. Now I get the money direct deposited in my account as well!

Quick refund - no strings attached...

I am very pleased with trupanion. I left the claim form with my vet, and within a few days I received an email from trupanion informing me of receiving the claim. A few days later I received another email giving me a detailed breakdown of the refund. This email informed of that the check was in the mail. A few days later, I received the check...

At least it was free

I had to use the gift policy I received from my humane society twice. My kittens had some pretty run of the mill shelter illnesses. They were all covered, but the customer service from Shelter Care was terrible. On hold for a long time, I wanted to email my forms (after scanning them) and when I emailed for an email address, I was told to call for info. When I called, they told me email was an option but no one ever used it. (And he didn't believe me that I someone had emailed me to tell me to call to request an email address.) I both mailed and emailed the claim forms (close to 20 pages). I had to call to follow up on the claim since there was never an communication from them. When I called they told me that my second claim had been flagged for review but she didn't know why. They called ma later to tell me it was being processed and I would receive it soon. I did receive it, but it was made out to the local emergency vet, not me. I don't know why, since the emergency vet hand't treated my kittens the second time (but they had the first time). After putting me on hold multiple times, I was told they would cut me a new check two business days later (it was Thursday, the check would be cut on Monday) and that it was a mistake on their part. I appreciate the acceptance of responsibility of their own stupidity, but how they could be that stupid to begin with is beyond me. Personnel is very easy to work with.

It would be better to have two separate claim forms for Wellness and Illness. I submitted claims for both Wellness and Illness on a single form for one of our dogs and it was confusing to the claims adjustor who handled it. It took 3 phone calls to get it corrected. I got my claims handled properly by the end and the personnel I dealt with were very friendly and helpful, but for future claims I am going to use a separate for for each category.
