Great coverage and excellent customer service!

I have been working at a veterinarian's office for 25 years but due to health issues I could no longer stay in the field. I knew with having a new puppy in the house and no longer having the great discount that I used to receive I needed pet insurance. Over the years VPI pet insurance has had the market and was the insurance that I was most familiar with while working at the hospital. I started to read other reviews here and found Healty Paws. I quickly found that they had a simple plan with little to no restrictions at a very fair price. I contacted their customer service to ask a few questions and it was at that time I knew I was going to go with them! I have had to take my new puppy in two times now for orthopedic injuries and gastrointestinal issues. Both claims went so incredibly smooth and had my reimbursement check in the mail in less than 2 weeks. The claim form is set up under your account so either your veterinarian can print it or you can and take it in for them to fill out their portion. I have the veterinarian do most of the work so basically there is little to no work to file a claim! I am extremely satisfied with all aspects of this insurance! I hope this review was helpful as the ones I read that brought me to this decision!

Trupanion provided coverage all approved diagnosis

Our 8m old doberman puppy experienced heart failure in May 2013. It was completely unexpected. There really were no signs prior. He was diagnosed with mitral dysplasia and atrial myopathy caused by leaky heart valves which he was born with. He was hospitalized for 6 days at a specialty hospital where he underwent around the clock care and medications. Expenses for his hospital stay and on-going doctor visits and medications were in the thousands. We are extremely fortunate we purchased coverage through Trupanion shortly after we got him. Trupanion claims department and customer service was exceptional. Initial claim took about 4 weeks because all medical history needed to be verified. Subsequent claims have been much quickly with turnaround time of 1-2 weeks. Trupanion has provided 90% coverage for all approved diagnosis & services. We highly recommend Trupanion to other pet owners and have already recommended Trupanion to our friends and family.

True to pet insurance

Our our 13 Lhasa became very ill. He spent 5 days in the hospital with a bill of $7800. Trupanion paid the entire 90% less our $250 deductible and initial office visit of $65. We submitted our claim and received a check with 10 days before the credit card arrived. The claim service was excellent. I would recommend Trupanion to anyone seeking Pet insurance. They are excellant

Amazing

I had to take my dog to dermatologist. The exams and medicine were so expensive . Trupanion were on the phone with me when I was at the vet's office and pre-approved all the visit and expenses. Leaving me happy and with no worries of a very big expense . Thank you!

Outstanding!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been outstanding in customer service, communication, and in their prompt payments. I spent weeks researching the different companies, as this was my first time purchasing pet insurance for my puppy and I wanted to make sure that I was covered for the more serious accidents and medical conditions that oftentimes plague a dog as they mature. I figured that I didn't need preventative meds or office visits reimbursed but, given my financial instability, I wanted to make sure that the 'unexpected' would be covered. Thankfully, I made the right choice. At 1 1/2 years old, my dog was diagnosed with torn cruciate of the hind legs. There are 3 different techniques to repair this injury, each technique having a different cost. I called Healthy Paws to ask them which technique they would cover, and I was told that they would cover whichever technique the vet and I would prefer. I knew then and there that I had made the right choice with Healthy Paws! She underwent surgery a little over a week ago. As I am currently unemployed and very low on funds, I faxed them my receipt for the surgery on Friday. I was stunned to receive a check from them the following Monday - 3 days! In addition, someone from Healthy Paws even contacted me via email to check to see how my dog was doing. When I responded to the email, I never dreamed that he would write back, but he did, reassuring me that the recuperation process would go quickly. How great is that! I

Wonderful so far!

I had VPI with my previous Bernese Mtn Dog. I was okay with it. Didn't think they paid quite enough on the first cancer surgery but was sure nice to have some of it back. I didn't really know another one so would have put my new berner puppy on it too but stopped to read all the fine print in the back and they had added an exclusion for Histio cancer which is a biggie in berners. That was out so I asked around the club and several ladies had Embrace, had some major events and were very happy. I researched it and felt that it covered the most and was impressed to see the level of the coverage on each event until the yearly max was reached. I added wellness coverage as it gives you $25.00 over the rate you pay so felt it was a good deal.So far have just made the wellness claims and they respond immediately that it is received and let you know the amount that is on the way to you very quickly.

Outstanding customer service

My pug was suffering from excessive drooling due to dental problems. Unfortunately, he had to have a tooth removed. Due to the very comprehensive wellness program, I was reimbursed for the entire amount of the dental care costs and my refund was direct deposited to my account in less than one week. I only wish my own medical insurance could be so efficient. Thanks Embrace!

Wow for peace of mind

I have been with this pet insurance company for more than 10 years. I have Nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about them. My Saint Bernard Pandora seemed to always be the kid needing treatment. I have filed several claims over the years & the last one being just a week ago. Pandora had to go to ER vet over the weekend before the holidays & the bill was $2300.00. She didnt eat for couple of days & then had bloody diarrea. My poor baby needed IV fluids & test after test to see what the problem was. She had ultra sound, blood work & many other things. Was called Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. Thankfully 2 days later she was able to come home & is now 100% better. I knew once I filled the claim it was a short time before getting credit for a chunk of the bill. Filled last Sat & 5 days later It was complete. Wow, is what this company are all about. They do have caps on most things that are concidered resonable cost for each State but do a Very good job at paying out & explaining every detail of the bill. I knew going to ER vet I sellected was way more expensive than some but I knew I was getting the quality of care for my dog so took her there not the cheaper closer place. They paid over $1600 for the claim so I was Very pleased. I have the 80/20 plan, I pay 20% they pay 80% of what is resonable costs. It is with Great custumer service & payout that I reccomend this company above all others to all my friends & clients I meet. I am a pet sitter & dog walk
