My dog had to have porcupine quills surgically removed. Her vet bill was less than the deductible, and the examination wasn't covered, so no insurance payment. The claims experience was very simple and efficient. Just a little disappointed that they didn't pay for any of the treatment. But it was according to the policy I took out.

My dealings with all employees of Trupanion have been wonderful. They are so compassionate and sensitive to his, new news of his brain tumor. Always giving me words of encouraging words and to give him a hug for them. No other insurance does that.
My claim was submitted by the veterinarian staff and approved within minutes! It was amazing! And so helpful to only have to pay a small portion of the bill.
My claim was not covered even though the doctor visit was due to a Pancreatic condition. My dog was seen for his Pancreatitis symptoms. Which are alot like other normal, doggie illnesses . Of which, Trupanion will not cover such either! This is ridiculous. And it should be changed.

All dogs have claws growing towards their pads. This is not a reason to deny a claim for a future claw problem. I’ll likely be moving to a better insurance soon. I will also be posting my negative review on as many websites as possible to let others know how bad your product is
My 8-year-old Persian cat has been insured under Trupanion his whole life. All of my claims, without exception, were paid quickly and efficiently. My cat has a chronic condition requiring daily medication, resulting in frequent refills. When I refill the medication, the vet's office bills Trupanion directly. By the time I arrive to pick up the medication, my claim has already been processed. There are no hassles and no delays. I highly recommend Trupanion to all pet owners! Thank you for the great customer service!
