I highly recommend SPOT pet insurance
I am so impressed with SPOT's response time, fairness, and the support which is offered on their site. In past years, I have used two other pet insurance companies with little satisfaction. I adopted an older dog off the streets, so history is not available. He obviously has pre-existing conditions. but SPOT has been very fair about sorting out pre-existing versus covered vet expenses. They will cover him for his life, versus some companies that stop at a certain age, the cost is actually a few dollars less than the last company for better coverage, and their process time has been within a week. I highly recommend the company.

Everyone I spoke with was PHENOMINAL But, after speaking with a claims agent, the marketing of insurance benefits are very misleading in terms of what they will cover. I haven't had to use the insurance yet, so time will tell.

I have used Embrace since we rescued our Pekingese 5 years ago. Every single interaction has been above expectations! I would not have another pet before consulting with Embrace first.

It is impossible to reach anybody
It is impossible to reach anybody on the phone for any reason whatsoever. This is not useful. Whether they are any good as an insurance company or not, which I don't think they are, they at least have to pick up the freaking phone. They give you these long long long long long speeches when you press an option as if you're a flaming idiot who doesn't know how to read an explanation of Benefits and they're obviously trying to prevent you from reaching a human being and I never found out how to reach a human being. I just kept pressing zero forever until somehow it turned into hold music. Then I was on hold for about 20 minutes and I said never mind and I gave up because I don't have this kind of time. I really think these guys suck personally

No waiting period for wellness check
We adopted Sofia, our chihuahua in late May. Her first vet visit was in July. I was still searching for pet insurance and saw a brochure at the vet’s office when we went in for her appointment. I applied the next day and found out that I could include her wellness check as a claim. I received my reimbursement about a week later. So far, so good.
