So worth it if you have a troublemaker pet!

I'm so happy with Healthy Paws pet insurance! My husband and I have 3 dogs (we only had two when we first purchased a policy for one dog). We knew as soon as we got the one dog, Kya (a Pit Bull/Pointer mix), that she was going to be trouble! We were right. I think we started a policy for her in fall/winter 2014. In March 2016 we discovered she ate a bunch of mouse poison that we had under our house. Luckily we figured it out within 20 minutes of her doing it. We made her throw up, but we still took her to the vet. The vet did some emergency treatment, but closed at 6pm for the weekend, so we had to take her to another location for her to stay the night. After we took her home the next day, I got my bills together and sent them to Healthy Paws on Monday. The claim was processed within the week and I received a reimbursement check soon after that. Our little troublemaker got into more trouble in July 2016. She had eaten part of the rug one day. We didn't think too much of it, but she threw up here and there for a few days in a row. After one day when she threw up a LOT, I took her to an emergency vet. She seemed fine, but thankfully I decided to have x-rays taken, which showed there was some caught in her intestines and she needed surgery to remove it. She had surgery that night. I picked her up the next day, and filed my claim the following day. Again, Healthy Paws processed the claim very quickly - within the same day! I received the reimbursement check a few days later. We chose 90% reimbursement for Kya, with either $200 or $250 annual deductible. In total, we've had around $4,500 in emergency vet/surgery bills, and we've been reimbursed for most of that thanks to the pet insurance. Customer service is always quick to respond too, when I've emailed then to clarify my claims. We have an older dog now, and although the policy would cost more (and the deductible would be more) for an older dog, we're considering getting a Healthy Paws policy for him, since he's pretty klutzy too. The only thing I wish Healthy Paws included is an option for healthy visit coverage, to help out with yearly pet costs, but emergency coverage is better than nothing. I highly recommend Healthy Paws pet insurance to anyone who has a trouble maker pet or would just like the peace of mind knowing the policy is there if you need it!

peace of mind

4 months ago we got our new puppy, after losing our last boy to kidney disease. I was very concerned about getting a new pet after all the sadness of our last experience (not to mention the medical costs which weighed heavily on our family)But happily Embrace has given me peace of mind! Our boy Captain has used his Embrace 4 times already for well visits and 2 GI incidents. One visit cost us $1400 and embrace covered everything but our deductible! I love you Embrace! You've made it possible for our family to own a pet again without the stress of financial ruin. (and submitting a claim is the easiest thing I've ever done)

Great Concept and Exceptional Customer Service!

When we became happy parents of a precious Chihuahua pup, I decided I never wanted to be in the heart-breaking position of not being able to afford to get her treatment for a serious accident or illness. After seeing the excellent online reviews for Embrace, I decided to give it a try. I really loved that we were able to design our own insurance plan. I chose "accident, illness, dental and prescription" coverage with a $500.00 deductible, 80% coverage after that and a $10,000 max yearly pay out. We signed up when our baby was less than two years old for a yearly premium of around $250 - $300. Now that she is a more "mature" lady of 11, our yearly premium is about $475 but it's still tons less than human health insurance and well worth it for the peace of mind it gives me! In the past year I placed some claims for allergy testing/treatment and having some skin growths removed, which they covered with no hassles. Their agents have always been friendly and informative and they had a check in my mailbox within a couple of weeks! I often tell people that our dog has better health insurance than WE do! And, at least when it comes to the yearly premium and deductible, it's true! I have highly recommended Embrace to a number of friends, family and even strangers I've met at the vets. Two thumbs up Embrace!

So glad I have Embrace

I was that guy, paying for pet insurance for years, hoping I would never need it, but hating myself for paying for it for so long in the event I never used it. Unfortunately, I did have to use it when my 10.5 year rottweiler was diagnosed with bone cancer, and Embrace really stepped up and did what they promised they would do. No hassle, no nonsense, just did what I expected them to do. In the world of insurance, it's rare to have that level of service, and I'm extremely grateful that I can have a little peace of mind when I need to give my dog the care she needs. Thank you Embrace.

Not worth the paper that their contract is printed

Piece of garbage company. Tried to cancel and told me that the person on the contract has to cancel not the person paying the bill. Pieces of crap. Don't ever use them

Healthy Paws is AWESOME-the ABSOLUTE BEST

I have had 14 cats in my life and now have three – Twixi -5, Smoochie – 4 (picture attached of the 2 lovebirds) and Squiggles – 4 monthsI have used many health insurance companies with lots of frustrations until I found Healthy Paws 4 years ago. And they are just AMAZING! Within hours of submitting a claim, and I am talking about thousands of dollars (even on weekends) I get an email from them stating “claim processing” and then several hours later “claim completed”, click here for summary. They do not keep requesting more and more documents and look for a million reasons not to pay like other pet health insurance companies. And they have a “super app” where you just take a photo of your paid itemized invoice, nothing else and push submit claim and done. And their pricing is also very competitive covering more illnesses than other carriers. In fact, I was so impressed and elated when they covered “home physical therapy” for my Smoochie who had a very unusual spinal stroke and have paid me tens of thousands of dollars so she can still be part of our family. Also, the staff is so nice when you speak with them, very responsive – they just really care and it shows. Bottom line, they respect and believe in their clients. I love to see nice little positive uplifting notes in their emails covering claims. I feel so fortunate every time I hear from them. If 10 were the highest rating I would give them a thousand. My congratulations to the founder, owner for running such an efficient caring business. And my husband’s biggest wish is that he wants to make me as happy as Healthy Paws does.

I highly recommend Healthy Paws

My niece adopted a new dog and got healthy paws insurance. A few months later her dog needed surgery and the insurance covered 90% of it. Her experience convinced me to get it for my dogs. I'm so glad I did. My dog needed expensive emergency surgery and would have died without it. Knowing that he was insured made the decision to have the surgery an easy one. Filing the claim on line was easy and Healthy Paws approved the claim and sent me a check right away.

Don't Purchase ASPCA Pet Insurance - SCAMMERS!

I have two Chocolate Labs and one became ill with diabetes in July 2015. In one year, I havce spent thousands of dollars on vet bills. I had purchased insurance from ASPCA two years prior to my dog becoming ill and I paid a monthly premium of $85.00 for both pets. ASPCA have only reimbursed me $1,000 on my claims. They claim that I had $3,000 available for insurance period July 2015 and November 2015. During that period,ASPCA did not reimburse half of the claim amount. ASPCA only reimbursed approximately $340.00. Now ASPCA is claiming I am no longer entitled to the $3,000 incident amount because any new claims related to diabetes is considered continued care. I am only eligible fora reimbursement of upto $1,000, which they claim I've already used since Nov 2015 to date. I am filing a complaint with the department of insurance. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY! They are better insurance companies out there.

So glad we found this insurance!

My dog Audrey has had a year of illnesses some of which I never received a definite diagnosis. Had to get a second opinion from a holistic Vet and a NutriScan - Pet Sensitivity & Intolerance Test. All of this became very expensive and would have not been possible without this insurance. Best Pets does have limitations on holistic care and does not cover holistic medicines. Audrey is doing better with a variety of treatments. I really want her healthy again, and thanks to Pets Best we are working on getting there!
