Slow to process, slow to pay, don't investigate fully.
They denied my first claim out of hand, without paying attention to what the claim is actually for - which is a completely new condition, contrary to the preexisting condition they assumed the claim was for. I'm now filing an appeal for this claim. They took 6 weeks to pay on a Wellness claim for a $30 medication, after initially being unable to locate where the payment had gone to. Super slow in processing and paying out Wellness medication claims, despite advertising on their site that they "strive to make their claims process fast and easy" and you will "get cash back, fast". The 8 stars are for the very nice and helpful customer service people on the phone - at least they've got THAT going for them. I'm shopping around for another company right now. I wouldn't recommend them.

Will claim to reach out to your vet for records (and don't) and then deny your claim
Pets Best has denied multiple claims of mine with a note that says they reached out to my vet "numerous times" and could not get the information they needed. After a quick call with my vet, I learned that they did not have a record of Pets Best ever reaching out and they immediately sent the info I needed for my claims. At this point, customer service has told me that they will reopen my claims, but I haven't heard anything for weeks. They seem to look for any excuse to deny a claim for covered issues. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere.

Best pet insurance EVER!
We have 5 miniature dachshunds who are all insured through Healthy Paws. I have had to file a few claims in the past 2 years and it has always been a seamless process, quick and easy. I’m writing this review now because Healthy Paws has went above and beyond with helping us through the process as one of our dachshunds had IVDD, which required surgery and then unfortunately had a GI blockage requiring emergency surgery 2 weeks later. Customer service was fabulous with communicating, collecting the medical records from the different surgeons, specialists, etc. I was elated to find out our policy covered acupuncture as well because it is highly recommended during the recovery period. I cannot say enough how grateful I am to have found Healthy Paws as they definitely helped lighten the financial burden and made it easy! An account manager even reached out to us to check on Woodstock after his surgeries, which made me feel like they truly care about their clients.

Expected price increase, but not a gouge
Had for 5yrs, price increases are a lot. I was told that your pet isn't penalized for sick visits, but this is not the case. I realize rates will rise, I expected a few dollars but my rates have increased $13 each month twice now. I started off paying $42/month and they have increased for the second time and my payments are now $71/month! I picked this insurance because of the annual deductible, and price was good. I have the option to increase my deductible or have less reimbursement but I'll still be paying just as much out of pocket. I work in a vet clinic and recommended this insurance to a lot of people and now I'm really feeling bad. The reason I gave 2 stars, they are good about reimbursing in a timely fashion. After that reply, i want to add I work at a veterinary hospital. Our prices haven't increased in the past 2yrs and when they do go up, they go up maybe $1-$2 per item. I think so many people using the insurance, makes your rates go up...so in other words it is kind of a penalty! $330 increase in 2years? That's not rising vet costs.

Best pet insurance EVER!

Whenever I have a question
Whenever I have a question, customer service always answers with patience and kindness. I am so glad that I purchased this insurance as soon as I got my Havenese. Phoebe is having problems with her spine and neck and every time I file for my insurance, I always receive an email that tells me that they will take care of my filing and to sit back, and relax. I don’t know what I would have done without these great people and their wonderful pet insurance

Counter Surfing Covered
I had no idea that counter surfing qualified as a behavioral issue, SPOT reimbursed me $500 for my dog's training! They also reimbursed me $2000 when my poor Lou ate tin foil out of the trash and had to get it removed by a vet. This is by far the best pet insurance on the market, I highly recommend everyone get SPOT!

Thank God For Trupanion
I felt we humans have health insurance my pet should too. Well thank hod I did 2 yrs ago. My dog needed surgery recently and thank his I has this wonderful company to help pay the big bill. I only had to pay 10 %. You never know when you will need it but rest ashore, this is the way to go. Thank you Trupanion!!!
