ASPCA is proving to be transparent and friendly

I am a new customer with ASPCA - I purchased both a Preventative Plan and Illness/Injury coverage for my corgi puppy. ASPCA is one of the best preventative plans I was able to find, and my claims for vaccinations/regular check-ups have been processed quickly and as-expected! Customer service at ASPCA has been a particular joy, as the staff seems to truly take concern with the well-being of your covered pets and with your experience as the pet owner. I am new to pet insurance, but ASPCA has made me happy to have taken the leap and purchased the coverage.

READ THE FINE PRINT!

We recently switched food brands, for our dog. Unfortunately he experienced diarrhea. Long story short, 2 visits later and all tests being negative, the Vet figured out it was the food. We switched him back and he has been AWESOME. However Embrace was not. According to their "fine print" your pet must be free from diarrhea for 12 months, they consider that a preexisting condition and will NOT cover it, although my Vet assured me that the notes were in the file, something Embrace is also insistent on, they still interpreted it as preexisting. So I recommend you SHOP ELSEWHERE.

Best Decision of my life!

I love Healthy Paws! My Golden Retriever puppy, Hudson, is almost 8 months old and has gone through it all in the past couple weeks. Before I got my puppy, I was thinking I would get it when he was closer to 4 years old since Golden's have a lot of issues as they get older and the Golden I got was VERY well bred so I figured since he had good genes/DNA, that I wouldn't have many issues with him... but boy am I glad that I got Healthy Paws when he was a puppy. If I had waited, then I would have a lot less money in my bank account right now, because you never know what is going to happen with your pup. The first two claims I submitted to Healthy Paws I had back within 2-12 hours. With the last one two, it took a couple days (they were much larger than my first two). For the last one, it was a LARGE bill ($6,000+ for an emergency surgery, which was inconclusive so an extended hospital stay with MANY, MANY tests done), so I gave them a call after 48 hours to see when they were going to get to it. They told me that if I ever have another large claim, to call them immediately after submitting it and they can push it to the top of the pile for review so I get it back sooner. I thought that was great to hear. While I was on the phone, they made sure to ask how my Hudson was doing and I even got a follow up email a few days later checking on him. So not only do they provide a great service, but they care. So far, they've covered everything I would have expected them to. I'm VERY happy I went with Healthy Paws and not one of the competitors! Healthy Paws took the financial concern away from the decisions to do what was right for my pup (not like I would have chosen otherwise anyways, but still… you get my point)! My ultimate vet bill for my vet and the hospital was over $6,600 and I’m coming out paying less than $1,750! That means that my pet insurance just paid for itself for the next 6 years. Totally worth it in my book. When deciding on Healthy Paws, I was unsure since they didn't cover the exam and the preventive care, but because of that, you're paying less per month than you would have with another company and they're GREAT about covering everything else. I think my main takeaways are: 1. get pet insurance and 2. get it ASAP, don't wait because you assume that your well bred dog isn't going to have any issues until he's older.

Embrace is the best pet insurance.

Embrace pays claims promptly. They make the claims process easy, not complicated. I wish my medical insurance was this simple.

Let The Buyer Beware !!!

I am sending this email in regards to the cancellation of my pet insurance policy for my Coton De Tulear. I would like you to cancel this policy. I believe your company will never stand by my pet in the event of a time of need. It is my opinion that when a dog becomes sick, they will most often present with either lack of appetite, vomiting or lethargy. This does not constitute that these symptoms are necessarily related to a prior condition. A board certified internist stated the condition was not connected to my dog's first illness a year ago. I spoke with my primary veterinarian and she also stated they were not connected but somehow you insurance people seem to know more than the professionals. This clearly tells me your company is all about your bottom line and not protecting the pets you insure. I find how you proclaim your image is fraudulent. I am very disappointed in your service, or lack of it. Be assured a review will be posted.

The last few claims were broken down per case and it was the testing was all to find out what is wrong with my pet.

The last few claims were broken down per case and it was the testing was all to find out what is wrong with my pet. I had to protest as they were all broken up even though the reason was the same on all of the claims.
