Best choice I've made

Embrace has amazing customer service and sooo worth it. We got our first puppy and unfortunately have been to the emergency vet a few too many times. Embrace definitely makes it a little less painful and puts my mind at ease because it definitely adds up.

Fantastic customer service

Copied from an email that I sent to Healthy Paws customer service - "You all are awesome! I had heard fantastic things from other greyhound owners about Healthy Paws and you all are living up to your great reputation. Claims are processed quickly and fairly, and are easy to understand. Thank you!" I have had coverage from other companies and none have come close to Healthy Paws.

Excellent Experience!

Great experience with Healthy Paws. No nonsense, no drama, no insurance company games. Comprehensive coverage, easy, clear and straightforward claims process, and speedy payment. We had VPI (now Nationwide) for years, but the coverage options declined and the ability to get claims paid became more and more difficult over time, so we went looking for a new option. We read the reviews on Healthy Paws and took a chance--so glad we did are now in the position to write a positive review of our own.

They do not have veterinarians on staff in claims

I'm very disappointed that they do not employ veterinarians in the claims department but claim to hire previous veterinary staff or technicians. Well I'm telling you that they don't know what they are doing. My vets office has had to call them on a 30 day new adoption policy because they denied a claim on a new adoption where a puppy was ill and the office manager had to call them and explain what the problem was. She said it was horrible and asked to speak to the veterinarian on staff and was told "We don't have one, and don't need one". Really? How do you adjudicate these claims of serious illness such as cancer or multi-system issues. I've discussed this problem with customer service several times and was rudely told that this isn't their policy to hire veterinarians on staff, they use veterinary staff such as previous vet assistants who are not veterinarians nor are vet techs. Some vet techs are better educated than others, and have certification. Some call themselves vet techs but have never gone to school. Some health issues and claims need to be adjudicated and reviewed by veterinarians in order to avoid false denials on claims. I had to cancel 3 policies because after the first year of paying for issues related to cardiac scarring after heartworm treatment , they refused to pay in the next policy year. Same with a diabetic cat. SO what do I have a policy for? Ridiculous! But they don't tell you that when you sign up! I've had to cancel three policies for senior pets because of this, Bantry (Deceased), Ringo (skin and GI conditions), and Fabian (heart conditions, deceased). Because they quit paying claims after the first year of the policy. This is why I got a policy. To cover those ailments. Very disappointing indeed.

Healthy Paws rates 10+

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is amazing! They have paid over $10,400. (ten thousand four hundred dollars) for my dog's surgeries since July 2016. It's easy to send in a claim, I take a picture of the bill with my iPad and send it in (no forms to fill out) they always respond quickly. Customer Service is excellent!!! I am very happy with how my claim was handled, I highly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance.

Healthy Paws stomps the competition!

I have both my Frenchies insured with Healthy Paws and I wouldn't change that for anything! I've unfortunately had quite a few claims and HP reviews them quickly and I have a check in my hands within 2 weeks. It's utterly amazing. I just take a picture of the invoice with my phone and upload it on their app. No claim forms and zero hassle. It's amazing. There is NO other pet insurance that compares. Period. Thank you Healthy Paws Pet Insurance! A++++++++

Claim..

Just want to say it took a couple times to get the claim delivered by fax but after that things went smoothly. I had a different company before so I just needed to adjust! I had taken Molly to the vet to check her eye as she was wiping it many times. The vet took care of her issue and the insurance backed their claims up by quickly reviewing and following through. I had requested that they confirmed faxed paperwork and that was done quickly. I feel they have done a good job!

The Run-Around

I submitted a claim for my dog, Jack who died within two weeks of me owning him. With my original claim I submitted all vet paperwork and receipts that were given to me from the emergency vet. My claim was denied due to the lack of SOAP notes. I contacted the emergency vet to get the notes and emailed them to the claims department on 10/17/16. The denial form stated that I could resubmit the claim. I again called a week later to see if the email had been received. The agent stated that there was no record on my file. I then emailed the documents to her personally. I called again a week later. There was no update on my file. I again called the next week and received the same answer as well as the fact that the claims processing department might be taking awhile. I think it is ridiculous that I have received NO follow up whatsoever. I will never waste my money on an insurance company that is avoid to pay out to their customers. My dog died... can you give me a break and actually help me with the claim?

Embrace has been (almost) all we could hope for!

Our 12 year old Pit Mix, Brandy, was listless, had no appetite, a touch of diarrhea. All of these a very out of character for this still energetic girls with a good appetite. The vet ran lots of tests that were inconclusive. But also found dehydration and gave a big dose of sub-cutaneous fluids. The total for all the tests, xrays, procedures, and substances was around $500! And Embrace covered it all. The only reason I've given them a 9, instead of 10, was that they considered our earliest claim to be for a "pre-existing condition." Too complicated for this space, but we'd only adopted Brandy a couple days when we signed up for the insurance so it seemed pretty harsh.
