Being prepared

We are fortunate that our pets have been very healthy, but we could not have foreseen that flowers would result in a toxic situation. Lilies are ubiquitous and there are no warnings for them. We filed our claim for the intensive care that both of our cats had to undergo, and after several thousand dollars of horror, it was a welcome relief to be covered. They are both well now, and we are blessed with their companionship and love. Well worth it!

I'm amazed with PetFirst. I've had this insurance on my Ocicat Nile for many years, and to my amazement PetFirst has covered every phase of his life. Reimbursement of our veterinary bills has been quickly issued by PetFirst, along with full description of vet billing. I highly recommend having PetFirst insurance for your pet(s), you won't be sorry!. So very, very sad now. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT SERVICE AND CONDOLENCES!

Trupanion paid claims very quickly

My 5 YO lab has a degenerative retina disease and required surgery for cataracts on both eyes. Trupanion processed and paid my claims within a week for over $6000. There was of course a co-pay but they paid 90% after that. I have not purchased pet insurance in the past but glad I did when my dog was a puppy.

Genuinem, straightforward, and sweet

being active duty military, financially we were hurting will all the vet bills. Our current insurance plan helped so much and eased the stress and allowed my husband and I to focus more on my puppies treatment than the financial burden of it all. we are so thankful.

dissatified

More than have my claims were denied..My 10 year old min Schnauzer was diagnosed with anxiety in October 2016.. His medicine is 53.00 each month all denied for payment by trupanion At the time this rider option was not available when I took out my policy..My dog had surgery to remove tumors from his left inner eyelid and inner hind leg. Surgery was on April 12th claim submitted just a few days later.. Iam still waiting.. Is always in open status or being reviewed Probably waiting to get a few more monthly payments out of me first My vet has said several owners of patients in her practice have not been impressed..and had negative experiences along these lines. At the time I bought a policy they were basically the only game in town not anymore, lots of others to chose from. His anxiety medication was disproved after they made me submit documentation numerous times with the excuse they couldn't make out the paper work. Once it was straightened out it didn't take them but 2 days to deny the claims after weeks and weeks of requesting I resubmit the paperwork multiple times

Thank you for your quick review of our claim.

I am so glad we got insurance for our pets. We don't have to ask the vet how much before he does a test. That relives us to focus on our pets health rather than the bill. Your customer service has always been very helpful. I will recommend your company to other pet owners.

claims/ cost of policy

Although they claim they don't raise policy due to illness, odd that after a claim for for a sudden dental issue it was raised the next year. Now when claims go in they have nbeen holding back with payments????OVER 2 MONTHS . Still waiting. I don't care about internal issues, and why are they always reviewing and reviewing what the hell are they looking for??? Reasons to deny claims..........

They never disappoint!

I've had my Great Dane and American Bulldog Mix insured with Healthy Paws for over two years and I've needed to use them twice for the Great Dane (2 tumors) and most recently for the American Bulldog Mix (the dreaded CCL repair!). I can't say enough good things about them, from the ease of filing the claim to the speed at which they reimburse me. Bonus: A representative always e-mails me afterwards to check in on my pet and yes, they name my dogs by name. It's a very nice touch in a world where caring people are hard to come by.

Forever Grateful to Healthy Paws

We got health insurance for our golden retriever puppy thinking it was a precaution for down the line. His plan started in February, and we pay $43 a month. In April, we notice he has a slight limp. Per vet's instructions, we have him take it easy (no long walks, rough play, stairs, etc.) to make sure it's just a sprain. Well, turns out it was more than just a strain. With our first $400 X-ray, we met our $250 deductible. I filed the claim (easy, just take a picture with your phone and upload to the app) and it was approved in under 3 days. We received a check in the mail soon after. THEN, though, the X-ray results came back and showed that our sweet 7-month-old puppy had elbow dysplasia in his right and left leg. Our vet recommended surgery ASAP, so as to reduce the damage of the FCP (x2) and OCD lesion and prevent him from suffering from debilitating arthritis at a very young age. We took him to a specialist, who agreed he needed the surgery in order to live as happy and normal of a life as possible. The surgery was going to cost $4,100 (!) which for us, is a LOT. We were glad we had pet insurance and hopeful they would cover it, but we'd heard all kinds of stories about people getting turned down for nonsense reasons and companies making excuses not to cover things. Our pup had his surgery May 2, and I (nervously) filed our claim the next day. Two days after that, it was approved -- covered in full, and we were sent a reimbursement check for 80% in the mail. Healthy Paws even followed up to ask how our dog was doing. I can't even tell you how thankful I am we got insurance from Healthy Paws. This would have been a huge financial setback for us, but thanks to our coverage, it was a manageable expense.
