I put in a vet expense for a sore paw.
I put in a vet expense for a sore paw. All I've been getting from Trupanion is emails going on and on about pre-existing conditions. I don't see the relevance nor did I get a real response on any status for the expense. Is it a $200 deductible per year or per visit? If it is per visit, I'm finding that this is a very expensive insurance policy. Makes me want to reconsider continuing.

I have pet insurance with Fetch
I have had my dog insured with Petplan (now Fetch by dodo) since 2017. He has had numerous medical issues that were costly. The first claim I filed was denied because it was determined to be a pre-existing condition. It was indeed a congenital condition but was still denied. I have always been able to choose what deductible and reimbursement percentage I wanted based on how much I felt I could afford for a premium. This upcoming year I was told what my premium would be, what my deductible will be, and what my reimbursement percentage would be. I was told it is because I have used a high percentage of the projected amount of my policy or something like that. I would have paid a higher premium to be able to choose what I would like to do. Buyer beware! I had no idea there was such a stipulation in my policy. My dog is only 6.5 years old and has several chronic diseases. I don't feel I can depend on Fetch to continue to cover him for the rest of his life.

My experience with Fetch
Since my Pomeranian was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I have sent many claims to Fetch. all the claims have been handled very promptly. the website and Fetch app or easy to navigate and use. I am very pleased with everything so far and we're glad that our pet is doing OK and we're able to keep him for a few more years.
