the operators are very nice and helpful when you call them on the phone. I just wish that it had been clearer that when you add another pet you have to pay another fee for that extra dog. I believed that you were just able to add another dog, not another payment monthly for another dog. I wish this had been explained better than it had been. Very misleading, only the registration fee was waived, not an extra payment for another dog. That was a bit unexpected.

Best Pet Insurance Ever!
I have a almost 11 year old Golden Retriever and and almost 10 year old Golden Retriever. We've had numerous claims and Trupanion has ALWAYS come through for us. The piece of mind is worth every (affordable) monthly payment we have made and Trupanion makes it extremely easy to submit our medical costs. I will always have them as my pet insurance. This company has been on a downward spiral! They used to be affordable when my dogs were young. Now, the per pet premium has climbed to nearly $500/mo and claims are taking two months to be reimbursed. Recinsider before you choose!

Obviously I am concerned about my pet or I would not have pet insurance but the prices keep going up.
Obviously I am concerned about my pet or I would not have pet insurance, but the prices keep going up. The new increase of $20 dollars is outrageous and does not even cover the important routine care. Over 11 years, I have spent far more than most or all health issues would have needed. I would have been in a far better position if I had opened an account and deposited $5 a week. The only reason that I am not canceling now, is that I have already sunk so much money into it and my dog is now past 12.
