I am so glad we went with Trupanion!
We bought Trupanion for our furry daughter when she was a puppy 8 years ago and have wondered if it was worth the monthly fee. We had to submit our first claim last week for a torn ACL and I am so glad we decided to get insurance. I was shocked at how easy the process was - from the submission to payout, it was so quick and smooth.

Best Thing Ever For Pet And Pet Owner
You get what you pay for! It was well worth the monthly payments when my dog came down with kidney disease. Trupanion has paid for 90% of all her bills just as promised. The online tool for filing a claim is a cinch and the auto deposit is the best! I get reimbursed in a couple of days!

Trupanion has been extremely easy to work with, has great coverage, and the few interactions I've had to have with your support staff have been very helpful. Getting in touch with you guys is ridiculously easy as well. The only reason I don't give a higher recommendation is because cost has risen sharply in the last couple of years, nearly doubling, from 40ish to 70ish now per month. And while I feel I still have had great value in the past, it now costs about as much to insure my vehicle.

Horrible Experience
This company is horrible. They will find every single way to not pay your policy out. The passing of my dog was made 100 times worse because they refused to pay his final vet bill. They knew I was not going to return to the company because he passed and took it as a final opportunity to screw me. They blamed his passing on a heart murmur he has had his entire life.

Complete Waste of Money
Had this pet insurance for 8 years for my dog. For the first 6 years I paid $100 a month for a $500 deductible and the next 2 years I paid $50 a month for a $1,000 deductible. From all of my vet bills, Trupanion probably covered a total of $200. They always found a way to deny coverage due to a "pre-existing condition" clause. It was a complete rip off and a total waste of money. I would not recommend purchasing pet insurance from them.
