KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PAYING INTO!
Borderline a scam to get loving pet parent's hard earned money, while actually covering very little. PLEASE PLEASE read every fine print and ask questions! Do not assume anything. This company will not cover ANYTHING related to a pre-existing injury or illness to your dog. So for example, if your dog hurt their left leg 6 months before you got the insurance, then anything that happens to that leg AFTER is on you. They won't even cover prescriptions, if it pertains to that leg! Insane. What is the insurance good for??? Not to mention, good luck actually getting customer service on the phone in under 30 minutes. Terrible experience and $400 dollars down the drain. It's a shame to take advantage of people.

DONT REGRET not getting Pet Insurance.!!
The staff at Norco Animal hospital in Norco ,Ca gave me information on TRUPANION for our costly bloodhound 3 years ago. So we purchased pet insurance. With the help of James and our Dr. Yoon & staff at the animal hospital we go to and theyre billing trupanion for us. Not one episode with our dog passes- that I regret that decision. TRUPANION, has come through more times than I can count. We recently went through (yet another )surgery with our bloodhound. TRUPANION covered all but my 10%. FIVE STARS for Trupanion We couldnt be happier with the staff and correspondence from trupanion and the constant communication. This bloodhound has been the most costly dog we have ever owned out of six dogs and the past breeding of our golden retrievers. PET INSURANCE FROM TRUPANION MAKES A TREMENDOUS difference. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! FIVE STARS

Trupanion Coverage is a Lifesaver
I recommend Trupanion all of the time to friends as well as to people that I meet out walking the dog or waiting at the vet. Having my dog Daisy insured has saved her life and kept me from going into serious debt. When Daisy decided to swallow a pine cone whole Trupanion covered most of the cost of emergency surgery and hospitalization. It is so stressful to have a sick pet and so expensive. Having a comprehensive insurance plan with a simple claims process has made all of the difference for me and my mutt.

We pay a lot of money per month and have not benefitted from this insurance at all. Each "issue" is separate and must meet a deductible per issue. Don't see the benefit of even having pet insurance.

Handled the claim directly with the vet
My experience with Trupanion was thankfully really easy and did not add to a stressful, emotional time. Only thing I'd change is an improved understanding of what you pay (what is not covered), plus your deductible. Would have appreciated an example of what an unexpected overnight in the hospital could have cost to inform deductible choices. In retrospect, I would have chosen a lower deductible. Trupanion was excellent, quick and very responsive with the claim. Thank you
