I took my dog into the er thinking she had a bad uti and it turned into a 4 day hospital stay for a new diagnosis of diabetes and pancreatitis. It was very scary but knowing I had trupanion to help with costs helped put the money side of things out of my head and just get her in the mend

I've been paying for this pet insurance for 2 years. When we found out we needed to get a deep teeth cleaning last year that wasn't covered because it was deemed preventative care. Fine I don't like that you won't cover it because why the hell am I paying monthly but I guess if anything more serious comes up it'll be nice. So this year when we brought our pet in for her checkup we found out that one of her back teeth has degraded more and needs to be extracted. And guess what? also not covered. What the hell am I paying for? You don't cover preventative care, you don't cover required care? this is just a scam. Stay away.

Because I feel that insurance for dogs should be like insurance is for humans.
Because I feel that insurance for dogs should be like insurance is for humans. You pay a monthly payment and you should get full coverage. To me it’s like insurance companies are getting rich with all these monthly payments from all its members while we pay an enormous amount for an accident to happen or a n emergency to arise. What if an emergency doesn’t happen for 12 yrs. My payment of $165 per month has accumulated to over $18,000! And for those of us that that take great care of our pets are being penalized for being great parents to our fur babies! Not fair honestly!
