I did have the claim declined initially as apparently the person who went over it made an error and as well it wasn't linked to a previous claim for the same issue.

However the person I spoke to about it was very nice and very helpful, my vet had to call and everything was cleared up and covered. Which was a smoother process than I thought it would be. My only disappointment is that it doesn't cover office visits at all which is usually a big chunk of the bill (in this case $200) but I certainly was happy to have the coverage when I needed it.

I was told when I joined approx. 6 1/2 years ago that after $250.00 deduction it's free. But you didn't say it was $250. for each part of her body and a 100 different ailments. There is no reason to pay every month. I should just put the $40.00 in the bank in a seperate account.

Trupanion has certainly given me peace of mind knowing if my dog gets sick or as in my case an injury that required surgery we have assistance with the financial coverage that makes this ordeal a lot more feasible.

Paid for the top coverage....$104 per month. Never filed since signing up...just paid. Had my dog develop a hormone problem. Will not cover it because they are saying it's dermatitis. She is on medication for a hormone imbalance...but I can dispute it. They will DENIGH EVERYTHING AND MAKE YOU WORK FOR YOUR PAID COVERAGE!!!! GARBAGE COMPANY! Must be others, perhaps a class action suit is necessary.

I love Trupanion and am happy to have had it for the life of my little daxie. I find the service generally quick and efficient. There are a few things I think that should be covered that are not (like fees for taking the blood are not covered where the tests themselves are - this does not make sense or seem right to me.) I also am shocked at how fast the yearly premiums raised to over double what we initially started out with - whatever reasons they have for increasing the costs doesn't diminish the shock of this increase. In the long run over the life of our dog we have likely paid more in premiums than we have collected in claims but that is the way insurance works and we are happy to have had it. Staff have ALWAYS been wonderful and helpful.

Best around on paper. We'll see in time if it's warranted.
It was simple online, but i decided to call anyway. I was given a questionable answer to my question: "Why is your phone price higher than my online quote from yesterday?" She answered, our rates increased a few dollars... That's where you lost 3 stars. On my second call, the CS rep told me why... It was because the "race" was different between my 2 quotes (Yorkipoo vs Yorkshire Terrier) which makes sense.
