CRIMINAL & PREDATORY COMPANY
I've had Healthy Paws on two of my dogs since 2014, they're now both over 10 yrs old. The rate hikes are INSANE, we just went from $350/month to almost $1000/month, with LESS coverage. This company is CRIMINAL. I've had FIGO pet insurance for my third dog and she is OLDER than the two that are with Healthy Paws- we pay less than $200/month for her for the EXACT SAME COVERAGE ($250 yearly deductible, no annual/lifetime limit, 90% coverage) and she's 14 yrs old! What the hell is going on? They really get you because now that my dogs are over 10 and have pre-existing conditions, we can't get coverage elsewhere without sacrificing coverage on their pre-existing conditions, so it's either stay with Healthy Paws and pay outrageous premiums or drop the coverage completely. We'll be dropping. Outrageous and criminal. I'm just sick. If you have a young animal and are considering Healthy Paws, know that the rates they start you at are extremely deceiving and if you plan to keep your policy on your pet for it's lifetime, BE VERY PREPARED BECAUSE YOUR RATES WILL SKYROCKET. My advice- STAY AWAY!

The app doesn’t work correctly
The app doesn’t work correctly. It doesn’t allow you to type a question or answer a question that the bot asks. The premium is so high that the amounts reimbursed makes it not worth having. It is the biggest regret I’ve ever had with an insurance policy.

Easy to sign up, detail summary before commit could be better
Was easy to sign up online and straightforward. It would be nice if there was a better detail of the insurance sign up summary before committing. The sign up left me second guessing myself and having to restart the quote and sign up. Very little to no human to human communication which to some may be good and not great for others

I’m extremely disappointed with Pumpkin…
I’I’m extremely disappointed with Pumpkin Pet Insurance and would not recommend them to other pet owners. I brought my cat to the vet after he threw up one time. My vet performed blood work, monitored him, and cleared him — nothing serious or chronic was found. One time. My cat threw up several times and became dehydrated. We had to take him to emergency room after seeing his vet to get fluids. Despite this, Pumpkin denied the entire claim, stating that the issue was considered a pre-existing condition. This is extremely frustrating because my cat was evaluated by a licensed veterinarian and medically cleared with no ongoing condition, yet Pumpkin still refused coverage. If a single incident of vomiting can be twisted into a reason to deny legitimate care, then what are you really paying for? I get pet insurance for peace of mind, not to fight over basic emergency care when something unexpected happens. Instead of support during a stressful moment with my pet, I was left dealing with paperwork, excuses, and a denial. Save your money and look elsewhere — when it actually matters, they won’t be there for you
