Great company, it's saved me a lot of money!

I signed up for MetLife when my puppy was 2 months old. Within a month I had to file my first claim, she got hold of some Ibuprofen and I couldn't tell how much she had actually taken, I took her to the vet and $700 later she was sent home and is fine. I submitted the claim and Metlife quickly paid the whole bill less my deductible. After that she needed several vaccinations and with the MetLife wellness package they were all paid for, then it was time to get her spayed. She's small so I wanted to get a laparoscopic spay done on her, it is more expensive than a regular spay - MetLife came through again and paid the entire bill of almost $700. Since then she pulled a muscle in her leg and had an ear infection - both were covered and MetLife paid the bills with no questions. I'm not sure they still offer this benefit but with my plan they pay for her monthly Trifexis flea & intestinal parasite preventative. My policy recently renewed and my rate went up by $1 (one) dollar a month, I was shocked! In the past with other pet insurance they would double your premium if you had any claims. I recommend MetLife to every pet owner I know, it's the best insurance out there today.

Good coverage

Coverage is good, I've had coverage on my now 9.5 yo bloodhound who has had multiple surgeries. Cost has gone up each year some years much higher than previous but I'm assuming that's due to surgeries. However, it's still cheaper than any other comparable company. Bummer that When I tried to add my puppy 3 years ago her initial monthly cost was very high, higher than I had paid for my older dog when I first took out the policy I couldn't get a straight answer as to why. Helped a friend process a claim for her dog through Trupanion and their claim process is cumbersome...definitely not as easy as HP. Reimbursements are very fast. Customer service is usually excellent.

Overall we are happy with customer service interactions and support.

Overall we are happy with customer service interactions and support. If it were not for trupanion we would have been forced to make decisions based on finances, without considering quality of life options.

I heard 30 days as 3 day wait ? Isdue

It's very expensive to belong and this is the first time I have received any compensation from my plan after paying the deductible etc. Happy for that at least!

They always find a way

To get out of covering your expanses that is. Absolutely useless "insurance". Experts in avoiding paying your vet bills and decisions cannot be appealed or discussed with a supervisor. Absolute scam. Avoid and just save money for unexpected vet bills.

Pet Insurance

I have 2 dogs so pet insurance for me is expensive but I don't regret having it. Insurance has gotten better in covering certain illnesses in particular the rise in cancer and arthritic conditions.

Highly recommend

We have had this insurance several years and have never been disappointed with it. Once I pay my deductible it pays just like it says. 80/20. Once our baby had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure a year and half ago it has been a Godsend. She's on several meds so it really helps. I recommend it highly.

Healthy Paws

Our 2-year-old Cavachon hurt her left back leg. Unfortunately, she had to have TPLO surgery. Thankfully we have had Healthy Paws insurance coverage on her since she was a puppy. This was an unexpected injury, as well as expensive. Our policy has an annual 250.00 deductible, with an 80% reimbursement level. The surgery totaled 5364.00. After our annual 250.00 deductibles and, our 20% responsibility, we received a direct deposit reimbursement of 4041.44 from Healthy Paws within 4 days. I'm so thankful for Healthy Paws being recommended by my sister. I will always have Healthy Paws coverage on my fur babies. The low monthly cost is well worth the peace of mind of unforeseen things happening. Cheryl Lute
