Save your money

Our experience with Pets Best Pet Insurance was deeply disappointing and a complete waste of money. Had we simply put the money we paid in premiums into a savings account, we could have covered our pet's entire procedure out of pocket and still come out ahead. Instead, we found ourselves paying for the insurance, paying for the procedure out of pocket, and then receiving only about 33% of the costs back. This was utterly disheartening. The high deductibles, numerous exclusions, and unexpected co-pays contributed to an overall poor experience. In hindsight, we would have spent a third of what we did over the past year by simply saving the money we paid to the insurance company. Pets Best Pet Insurance fell far short of our expectations, and we cannot recommend their services.

Unhelpful and poor customer service

Filing a claim with Metlife is a joke of a process. They require a 12 month medical history, so expect to not be reimbursed unless you take your pet for monthly check ups. After multiple calls to customer service and confirmation that my pet's medical history was received the claim is consistently closed with the reason being "insufficient documents provided". You'd be better off saving your money monthly then paying for this policy.

Pet Insurance

After paying for dental work. I researched pet insurance and decided to go with MetLife. I love them. If I have questions I can call and get answers. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I wish claims were processed a little faster but otherwise highly recommend them. I just recently picked another policy up for my cat.

Always great.

They have always paid my claims and I had over five dogs that were covered by them. They never refused any claims they even paid for two knee surgeries on one of my dogs and they always pay for the euthanasia part at the end of life. I've had MetLife for over 13 years and I have gotten back quite a bit of reimbursement which would have cost me an out-of-pocket since I always had five dogs at a time. I highly recommend this insurance to all the people who ask me what insurance I use I just tell them that they just don't cover pre-existing but otherwise they're great. Plus they less then any others I have checked. Especially for senior dogs.

Nothing but a hassle since joining

This is by far the worst pet insurance compagny. They increased our premium 2x in the spam of the same year even though they say their premium will never go up base on dog bread and size. We went from paying $123 last year to $149 and now $157 with a 20% dicount this year. They find every excuses in the book not to pay even when it is an emergency. CAA should not be recommended this company at all.

Rudyboo

We have had TruPanion since 2013, the year my boys were born. I can’t say enough about their customer service, compassion and all over knowledge. We’ve used it maybe 4 or 5 times over that last eleven years but we’re always so grateful we had it. Has saved us literally thousands of dollars. Really worth trying to fit it into your budget, as I have as a senior on Social Security, but my boys are worth every penny. Thank you, TruPanion, from Rudy and Bandit, too!

Nationwide Exorbitant Premiums

Their pet policy premiums I have gotten so expensive. I’ve had some almost double year over year.

Great until they start raising rates

Started out affordable, then raised rates by double or triple each year up to over 2300$ a month for one dog. Started hassling about claims, blatantly said they didn't want to pay that much any more.

I couldn't ask for better!

They have been very informative and quick to answer questions or concerns. Their processing time is surprisingly quick. After a major procedure for my cat, they even contacted me to see how she was doing. As far as rates, I did a lot of research before deciding to go with them years ago and they remain the best price for what you get in my opinion.

Very Satisfied with Pets Best

I have had Pets Best insurance for a few years now covering my 2 dogs (currently aged 8 and 10). This year had been a rough year so far for both dogs. One has been diagnosed with a chronic illness and had an ER visit due to ingesting a foreign object. The other dog (who we adopted a year ago) was recently diagnosed with mammary adenocarcinoma and has had 2 surgeries so far and will be starting chemo in a few weeks. I have been submitting claims weekly for the past 2 months and though the wait time can be up to 4 weeks, I have received payments on all claims and they were directly deposited into my bank account. I have only had to call Pets Best once with questions and the customer service rep was very knowledgeable and helpful. My rates did go up significantly this year (as have my vet bills!) but they are in line with other pet insurance companies for the type of coverage I have and I believe it is worth it. I highly recommend Pets Best!
