I am very sad to see the regular increases in the costs of your pet insurance.

I am very sad to see the regular increases in the costs of your pet insurance. As my dogs are getting older and need it the most, the costs are becoming difficult on a fixed income. 3 of my 4 insured dogs have barely used the insurance and yet the premium continues to increase. Very disappointed and will be looking at other insurance for any future pets.

Good luck getting anything covered with their convoluted, long claims process.

After much research, we chose Figo as our insurance company. They state that any acute condition that has been successfully treated and resolved is coverable under their policy. Our dog has had some stomach problems - he occasionally had had Gastroenteritis (an acute, curable condition). Shortly after we obtained the policy, he had an episode if Gastroenteritis with loose stools and stomach tenderness. Our claims were left to languish for weeks. Only when I called to inquire, did they inform me that they needed more medical documentation from a previous vet. The documents had been in my pet cloud the whole time, but had been "overlooked". Repeat cycle, with them asking for more documentation from current vet three times, but not being specific enough so I could actually submit what they needed to get my claim processed and no communication until I called to ask why the claim wasn't being paid. Finally, after 3 cycles of this, I was informed that stomach issues would never be covered because his sporadic acute Gastroenteritis was a "pre-existing condition". All of the employees I talked to were pleasant a d helpful, but the claims process and denial of anything that your pet has ever had an issue with makes it worthless fir all but young pets. I have also been hearing about outrageous price increases at policy renewal. Garbage coverage.

Manipulate condition categorization so you never meet your deductible

6 months after getting my dog and coverage simultaneously, I am cancelling Trupanion in tears. They have nitpicked simple problems like "ear infection" into so many different categories - facial fold dermatitis, yeast infection, otitis externa - to make sure that I never meet my deductible and they never pay out. Moreover, one claim for an ear infection that was categorized as otitis externa and approved (but less than the deductible threshold), but when it spread to the other ear the next week and we had to go in again, the claim was denied - for literally the same condition and treatment! Moreover, they will tie everything back to some preexisting condition to get out of paying it - somehow a case of pinkeye was denied as a result of a cut under his chin before I started the plan. My monthly premiums are $163 with a $200 deductible. I have yet to see any cost savings from this plan. I wish I had gone with a different one to begin with because no this will all count as pre-existing conditions, but luckily my dog hasn't had any serious illnesses, so it's better to get out now. I'd hate to see how the per-condition deductible is applied if my dog had some sweeping illness with lots of side effects, like cancer. Moreover, claims take months to get processed and involved me personally them down with hours on the phone with Trupanion and my vet to ensure they get the information.

So thankful we have the best coverage available!

Thank you for taking such good care of our beloved Banjo. We're so thankful that we have his health needs covered by Nationwide, and promote the importance of having your coverage with every new dog owner we meet. We learned the hard way several years ago when we considered it for Matty, our Dalmatian, but failed to follow through before she was diagnosed with the first of her 3 cancers. Fortunately, she overcame all of them over an 8-year period at a cost of more than $30,000.00. Obviously, this proved to be a very expensive lesson. We will never have another pet without coverage! We're among your most loyal fans, and will promote your exceptional coverage as often as possible. Many thanks for actually living up to what you state in your promotional messages.

I have a 3# Yorkie Hope.

I have a 3# Yorkie, Hope. She is covered for my peace of mind. Knowing she's perfectly healthy is great, but knowing I'm covered if something should happen is equally important.

Healthy Paws is the best!

Healthy Paws has been great! My beloved Sibe Husky just under went her second TPLO surgery. I wasn't expecting any benefits due to what I have read about pre-existing conditions. But I figured, what the heck, and submitted anyway. To my surprise, it was covered! They also gone on to cover her medications and post-op therapy. And I received an email asking how she was doing since the surgery. I thought that was a great touch! Admitting, the monthly expense is high, and was thinking of finding a lower cost company. But after this experience, I will be sticking with Healthy Paws! They have my upmost gratitude for helping out with keeping my girl happy and healthy. I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone considering pet health insurance!

Wisest Decision I Ever Made

Best decision I have ever made. The never thought I would need pet insurance but did some research and found Figo. Figo was affordable and I figured better be safe than sorry. Little did I know less than a year after getting the insurance my dog would start having major health problems. Figo has been wonderful. Claims have all been paid quickly. If I have had questions or concerns the staff at Figo has been terrific to deal with.
