Poor coverage
The only good thing I can say is that Embrace communicates well. What they communicate, though, is the many ways your claims are excluded from payment. Not worth the monthly payment!

HUGE RATE INCREASE FOR NO REASON
Adopted my poodle mix at around age 3. Got Figo coverage (Ultimate Plan, 200 deducible, 90% coverage, no lifetime max, no wellness coverage) for $400. Never made a single claim and my dog never had a single health issue. After 1 year, when he turned 4, the first renewal, they raised my rate to $660!!!!!! I called and complained, they said "we had to correct our rates to bring them in line with competitors". Out of curiosity, I went online and got a quote for the same coverage and it was $500. Clearly Figo does not at all care current customers and just suckers you in with good intro rates then jacks up their prices. It was a shame because I really was into their tech forward business model.

After spending as much as we have on insuring our dog, we think it would have been a lot less expensive to have just saved a lesser amount of money per month over the years for paying for our pet's veterinary care when necessary.

I started with this insurance from 2017, and after annual review, they increased my premium from 29 to $37 per month. it is over 25% increase. I called them to find out why, and no clear explanation. they just did whatever they wanted to increase. My pet is only 5yr old, and never file a claim yet.

Getting pet insurance through Nationwide was one of the smartest things I've ever done because you pay so quickly!
Nationwide pet insurance is awesome. I don't know how I would have ever paid for the care my dog has required for her illness. Nationwide pays very promptly and always as stated in their brochures. I wouldn't own a pet without them--they are fantastic!

A life saver!
If you have a breed of dog that has hereditary issues, pet insurance is the way to go. Our German has hip displasia and will need care for the remainder of her life. The cost of medications is ridiculous as well as veterinary care. The insurance has helped us give Arya the best care possible. We have two dogs and the other has seizures, so the insurance has literally saved his ife.
